Emporia is an unincorporated community in Adams Township, Madison County, Indiana.
Emporia is located at the intersection of State Road 109 and U.S. Route 36. Large grain elevators operated by Kokomo Grain Co. are the community's most prominent landmark.
Emporia was founded in 1891 when the railroad was extended to that point. [3] A post office was established at Emporia in 1892, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1907. [4]
Emporia is an independent city in the Commonwealth of Virginia, surrounded by Greensville County, United States. Emporia and a predecessor town have been the county seat of Greensville County since 1791. As of the 2020 census, the population was 5,766, making it the third-least populous city in Virginia. The Bureau of Economic Analysis combines the city of Emporia with surrounding Greensville County for statistical purposes.
