Datuk Eric Majimbun (born 7 February 1950) was the Member of the Parliament of Malaysia for the Sepanggar constituency in Sabah from 2004 to 2013, [1] as a member of the Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP). [2]
Majimbun was elected to federal Parliament in the 2004 election for the seat of Sepanggar. [3] SAPP was a member of the governing Barisan Nasional coalition until it left in 2008,which Majimbun claimed gave him more freedom to represent his constituents. [4] In the 2013 election,Majimbun contested the Sabah State Legislative Assembly seat of Inanam,but was squeezed into third place behind candidates from the two major national coalitions,the Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat.

The National Front is a political coalition of Malaysia that was founded in 1973 as a coalition of right-wing and centrist parties. It is also the third largest political coalition with 42 seats in the Dewan Rakyat after opposition coalition Pakatan Harapan with 90 seats and the coalition Perikatan Nasional with 50 seats.
The Sabah Progressive Party is a multiracial political party based in Sabah,Malaysia. It was registered on 21 January 1994 by dissidents led by former Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Yong Teck Lee from United Sabah Party. Formerly a component party in the ruling Barisan Nasional coalition,SAPP officially withdrew from BN in September 2008 to become independent. As of 2010,SAPP has two representatives in the national legislature and two in the Sabah State Assembly. In 2016,the party together with Homeland Solidarity Party formed the United Sabah Alliance. It later joined the United Alliance together with STAR and PBS in 2018. The SAPP became the main component party of the GRS coalition,the successor of United Alliance that was established in 2020 and registered in 2022.
Datuk Seri Panglima Dr. Maximus Johnity Ongkili is a Malaysian politician who has served as Minister in the Prime Minister's Department for Sabah and Sarawak Affairs for the second term in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob since August 2021. The next Malaysian general election,formally the 15th Malaysian general election or GE15,is scheduled to be held before 14 September 2023 to elect the members of the Dewan Rakyat in the 15th Parliament of Malaysia. All 222 seats will be up for election,presuming no constituencies are added or removed in a redistribution. As the 14th Parliament first sat on 16 July 2018,it will automatically be dissolved in June 2023 if not dissolved earlier. Traditionally,elections for all state legislatures are also held concurrently.
