Ethan Burke is an American football edge rusher for the Texas Longhorns.
Burke attended Westlake High School in Austin, Texas. At Westlake, Burke was a dual sport athlete playing football and lacrosse. Originally, Burke committed to play lacrosse at Maryland. [1] However, on December 1, 2021, Burke decommitted from Maryland and committed to Michigan to play both football and lacrosse. [2] Then on December 15, 2021, Burke decommitted from Michigan and committed to Texas to play football. [3]
Burke, a three-star prospect, helped lead Westlake to two state championships. [4]
As a true freshman at Texas in 2022, Burke played in 11 games, recording five solo tackles and one assist. [5] He made his college debut against Louisiana-Monroe. During his sophomore year, Burke earned a starting position and recorded four tackles and one sack in a win against Alabama. [6] Burke was an honorable mention on the 2023 Big 12 All-Conference Team.

Westlake High School is a public high school in unincorporated territory of Travis County, Texas, west of and adjacent to Austin. The school is a part of the Eanes Independent School District. Westlake High School is the only high school in the Eanes ISD and serves West Lake Hills, Rollingwood, parts of Southwest Austin, as well as parts of unincorporated Travis County. The school was established in 1969 and opened in 1970.

The 1964 Texas Longhorns football team was an American football team that represented the University of Texas as a member of the Southwest Conference (SWC) during the 1964 NCAA University Division football season. In their eighth year under head coach Darrell Royal, the Longhorns compiled an overall record of 10–1, with a mark of 6–1 in conference play, and finished second in the SWC behind the University of Arkansas who finished the season undefeated. Texas concluded their season with a victory over Alabama in the Orange Bowl.
