Rayshaun Benny (born May 8, 2002) is an American football defensive tackle for the Michigan Wolverines. He won three consecutive Big Ten Conference titles, and a national championship in 2023.
Benny attended Oak Park High School located in Oak Park, Michigan. During Benny’s senior season, he notched 32 tackles and five and a half sacks. [1] Coming out of high school, Benny was rated as a four star recruit, the sixth best player in the state of Michigan, and the 195th overall player in the class of 2021. [2] Benny held offers from Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Penn State and Oklahoma. [3] Initially, Benny committed to play college football for the Michigan State Spartans. [4] [5] However, Benny would de-commit from the Spartans and flip his commitment to play for the Michigan Wolverines. [6] [7]
From 2021 through 2023, Benny's first three collegiate seasons, he appeared in 30 games and totaled 43 tackles, six for a loss, a sack, two pass deflections and a forced fumble. [8] He won a national championship with Michigan in 2023 over the Washington Huskies, where Benny was an honorary captain for the Wolverines after suffering a broken ankle in the 2024 Rose Bowl. [9] [10] [11] In week one of the 2024 season, Benny notched five tackles, two for a loss, including a sack in a win over the Fresno State Bulldogs. [12]

Malik Devon McDowell is an American professional football defensive tackle who is a free agent. After playing college football for Michigan State, he was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the second round of the 2017 NFL draft. He sustained injuries from an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) accident shortly after being drafted and never played in a game for the Seahawks. His career was further complicated by a legal issue which ultimately resulted in him being sentenced to prison for 11 months in November 2019. In 2021, McDowell returned to the NFL and played for the Cleveland Browns that year.

Aidan Joseph Bernardi Hutchinson is an American professional football defensive end for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL). Hutchinson was a unanimous All-American for the Michigan Wolverines, and the runner-up for the Heisman Trophy in 2021. He was selected with the second overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft by the Detroit Lions, and named to the All-Rookie Team in 2022. Hutchinson was voted to his first Pro Bowl in 2023.
Cameron McGrone is an American professional football linebacker for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Michigan Wolverines, and was drafted by the New England Patriots in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL draft.
The 2021 Michigan State Spartans football team represented Michigan State University during the 2021 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Spartans competed as members of the East Division of the Big Ten Conference and played their home games at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing, Michigan. This was the program's second season under head coach Mel Tucker.
The 2021–22 Michigan State Spartans men's basketball team represented Michigan State University in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Spartans were led by 27th-year head coach Tom Izzo and played their home games at Breslin Center in East Lansing, Michigan as members of the Big Ten Conference. The Spartans finished the season 23–13, 11–9 in Big Ten play to finish in a tie for seventh place. As the No. 7 seed in the Big Ten tournament, they defeated Maryland and Wisconsin to advance to the semifinals where they lost to Purdue. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament as the No. 7 seed in the West region, marking MSU's 24th straight trip to the NCAA tournament, the second longest active streak. They defeated Davidson in the first round before losing to Duke in the second round.
