Keon Sabb (born September 18, 2002) is an American football safety for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He previously played for the Michigan Wolverines, winning a national championship in 2023.

Early life and high school

Sabb attended multiple high schools starting at Glassboro High School, then transferring to Williamstown High School for his junior year then finishing at IMG Academy for his senior season. [1] In Sabb's freshman season he totaled 46 tackles, seven pass deflections, and six interceptions. [2] In his sophomore season, Sabb defensively had 31 tackles and five interceptions. Offensively he had 29 receptions for 376 yards, and six touchdowns, while also throwing a touchdown pass. [3] In Sabb's junior season, he played both ways making 19 catches for 358 yards and three touchdowns, while also notching 19 tackles. [4] Coming out of high school, Sabb was rated as a four-star recruit and held offers from schools such as Georgia, Clemson, Texas A&M, Penn State, Alabama, LSU, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Michigan. [5] Sabb initially decided to commit to play college football for the Clemson Tigers. [6] [7] However on December 6, 2021, he decided to de-commit from the Tigers and flip his commitment to play for the Michigan Wolverines. [8] [9] [10] [11]

College career

Michigan

In 2022, Sabb enrolled at the University of Michigan, and in his first season he appeared in four games, but did not record any statistics. [12]

As a sophomore in 2023, Sabb started five games for the Wolverines. Including his first career start week one versus East Carolina, and a start in the National Championship Game. In total, Sabb recorded 28 tackles, a shared sack and two interceptions. One interception was returned for a touchdown versus Minnesota on October 7, both career firsts. [13] [14]

After starting in five of 29 games in his first two seasons behind Rod Moore and Makari Paige, Sabb entered the NCAA transfer portal after both Moore and Paige returned to Michigan for their senior seasons in 2024. [15]

Alabama

On February 19, 2024, Sabb transferred to Alabama, becoming one of the first recruits to join the football program following the hire of Kalen Deboer, and retirement of Nick Saban. [16] He played both Alabama and Deboer in the 2023–24 College Football Playoff, the Crimson Tide in the 2024 Rose Bowl, and Deboer as head coach at Washington in the national championship.

George Campbell IV is an American football wide receiver who is a free agent. He was rated as the tenth best player by ESPN and as a top-10 wide receiver by Scout.com and Rivals.com in the national high school class of 2015. He completed his junior season at East Lake High School during the 2013–14 school year. He committed to Michigan prior to his high school junior season, but decommitted following the season and committed to Florida State Seminoles, where he used three years of eligibility before graduating. Kareem Walker is an American football running back who is a free agent. He attended the University of Michigan on a scholarship to play college football for the Michigan Wolverines football team starting during the 2016 season, but left the team in 2018. Walker played as a true freshman at Michigan, then took a redshirt year before transferring to Fort Scott Community College in Kansas in 2018. He played for Mississippi State from 2019 to 2020 and South Alabama in 2021.
