Eyes of the Dead (EOTD) is a heavy metal band from New Haven, Connecticut. [1] They are signed to indie label Black Picket Fence Records. Formed in 2004, EOTD has recorded and released three full-length albums, two EPs, and one single. They have toured throughout the northeastern and midwestern areas of The United States, opening for many different national touring acts, such as: The Absence, Agnostic Front, Anthrax, Carnivore, Dark Tranquility, Destruction, D.R.I., Dying Fetus, Emperor, Exodus, Goatwhore, God Forbid, Immolation, Job For A Cowboy, Krisiun, Last Chance To Reason Misfits, Misery Index, Motograter, Mushroomhead, Opeth, Revocation, Six Feet Under, Sodom, Sonata Arctica, Soulfly, Suffocation, Testament, Thy Will Be Done, Unearth, Warbringer, Winds of Plague, and many others. Eyes of the Dead was founded by Matthew Talarczyk, Ryan Kiekel, Tim Price, Rich Wandell, all former members of the band Aggressia; and former singer of the band Deadwait, Frank Connors. [3] They released their debut album What Nightmares Are Made Of in 2006. They began work on their follow-up album, The Weak and the Wounded, in 2007. Produced by Joey Zampella (Life of Agony), it was released on Black Picket Fence Records in 2009.

In July 2011, Eyes of the Dead toured the American midwest acting as support for the band Motograter on their Honoring of the Sun tour. That year, the band was also featured on the For the Headbangers – Brutal Music Volume Two Compilation CD, alongside bands including Jasta, Kingdom of Sorrow, Black Label Society, All That Remains, Crowbar, and Dead by Wednesday. The CD was handed out at the Hatewear tent at all U.S. and Canadian dates of the 2011 Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival.

In 2012, EOTD announced the addition of drummer James Stolfi [4] and guitarist Pat Seymour [5] to the band.

On April 19, 2012 EOTD took part in the 14th annual New England Metal and Hardcore Festival, at The Palladium in Worcester, MA, featuring headliners Thy Will Be Done and Last Chance to Reason, and then again returned to the Palladium June 10 for the Worcester Deathfest, featuring Six Feet Under, Suffocation, Dying Fetus, Revocation, Fit for an Autopsy, and Vattnet Viskar.

Eyes of the Dead recorded the Dead Girls Never Say No EP in July 2012 at Studio B with producer Mike Z (100 Demons) for Ear One Productions. The EP was released 8/31/2012. [6]

In the Spring of 2014, Eyes of the Dead recorded their third full-length album, The Sum of All Your Fears, at Dexters Lab Recording with sound engineer and producer Nick Bellmore (Toxic Holocaust/Kingdom of Sorrow/Jasta). It was well received by local audiences, [7] winning 2014 Album of the Year from Connecticut indie media outlets Metal Cyndicate and Metal Fortress Radio.

As of March 2016, the band is re-recording some previously released material at Dexters Lab. Founding guitarist Matt Talarczyk recently announced his departure from the band, but is included on these recordings. On July 20, 2016, Eyes of the Dead announced via Facebook the return of former guitarist, Robert "Hobbit" Moore, as well as a comeback show after a 6-month hiatus.

Suffocation (band)

Suffocation is an American death metal band formed in 1988 in Centereach, New York. It consists of lead guitarist Terrance Hobbs, bassist Derek Boyer, rhythm guitarist Charlie Errigo, drummer Eric Morotti, and vocalist Ricky Myers. Vader is a Polish death metal band from Olsztyn. Formed in 1983, the group was founded by then-bassist Piotr "Peter" Wiwczarek and guitarist Zbigniew "Vika" Wróblewski. Vader went through several lineup changes over the years, with Wiwczarek as the only constant member. Since 2011, the band has comprised Wiwczarek on guitars and vocals, guitarist Marek "Spider" Pająk, bassist Tomasz "Hal" Halicki, and British drummer James Stewart.

Hatebreed American metalcore band

Hatebreed is an American metalcore band from Bridgeport, Connecticut, formed in 1994. They have released eight studio albums, most recently Weight of the False Self on November 27, 2020. Their musical style blends influences from hardcore punk and heavy metal; a prominent band within the hardcore scene, they are also considered a part of the metal scene.

Dying Fetus

Dying Fetus is an American death metal band originally from Greater Upper Marlboro, Maryland, United States. Formed in 1991, the group is known for their consistently hook-laden song structures, characterized by blast beats, complex riffing, slam riffs and heavy breakdowns. Additionally, their reality-based lyrics characterized by political/modern themes are notable in death metal. Various line-up changes throughout the years have left John Gallagher as the sole remaining original member, as well as the band's driving force. According to Gallagher, the band name was chosen while the members were of adolescent ages and was intended to be offensive. To date, Dying Fetus has released eight studio albums.

Necrophagist German technical death metal band

Necrophagist was a German technical death metal band, founded and fronted by guitarist and vocalist Muhammed Suiçmez. The band used baroque music-influenced compositions paired with extreme metal drumming.

Goatwhore

Goatwhore is an American extreme metal band formed in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1997.

Motograter was an American heavy metal band formed in Santa Barbara, California in 1995. They are best known for their homemade instrument, the "Motograter", designed with industrial cable and guitar pieces that creates a unique bass sound, and painting themselves in a tribal style body paint for live concerts.

Jamey Jasta

Jamey Jasta is an American singer and songwriter from New Haven, Connecticut. He is best known as the lead vocalist of metalcore band Hatebreed and sludge metal band Kingdom of Sorrow. Jasta also fronts metalcore band Icepick. Prior to Hatebreed, Jasta fronted the hardcore band Jasta 14.

Kirk Windstein American guitarist and singer

Kirk Windstein is an American guitarist and singer. He is a founding member of the sludge metal band Crowbar and a founding member of the heavy metal supergroup Down, playing with them from 1991 to 2013 and later rejoining the band in 2020. In 2005, Windstein formed Kingdom of Sorrow with Jamey Jasta of Hatebreed. Their debut album was released in 2008. Windstein began his musical career in 1985 as a guitarist for a cover band called Victorian Blitz, and in 1988 joined a hardcore punk band called Shell Shock as a vocalist and guitarist.

The Summer Slaughter Tour is an annual heavy metal music tour held every year since 2007. It originated in North America in 2007 and has toured in Canada in 2008, Europe in 2008, and Australia and New Zealand in 2009. Billed as "The Most Extreme Tour of the Year", Summer Slaughter has earned a reputation as being one of the few summer tours to cater exclusively to fans of extreme forms of metal music. Starting in 2012, Summer Slaughter began to add more progressive metal bands to their lineups, seeing Between the Buried and Me co-headline with Cannibal Corpse. Periphery also played Summer Slaughter 2012, and came back during Summer Slaughter 2013, along with progressive metal bands Animals as Leaders and The Ocean. Kingdom of Sorrow is an American heavy metal band that features Kirk Windstein of Crowbar and Down, along with Jamey Jasta of Hatebreed.

Impending Doom

Impending Doom is an American Christian deathcore band from Riverside, California. The group has released six full-length studio albums and are currently a five piece with lead vocalist Brook Reeves as one of the two original remaining members along with Manny Contreras who left the band in 2010 but returned in 2012. The band refers to their style of music as "gorship" - a portmanteau of the words gore and worship.

Deeds of Flesh is an American brutal death metal band from Los Osos, California, U.S. They were formed in 1993 by Jacoby Kingston, Erik Lindmark (1972–2018) and Joey Heaslet, and remained active until Lindmark's death in 2018. They founded their own label, Unique Leader Records, which has since become home to a number of other death metal bands from around the world. Deeds of Flesh have released nine studio albums, their most recent being Nucleus which was released in 2020.

Carnifex (band) American deathcore band

Carnifex is an American deathcore band from San Diego County, California. Formed in 2005, they are currently signed to Nuclear Blast after having been signed to Victory Records. They have released seven full-length albums and three EPs. Since 2007, the band has consisted of founding members Shawn Cameron and Scott Lewis, along with Cory Arford and Fred Calderon.

Revocation is an American technical death metal band from Boston, Massachusetts, founded by guitarist and vocalist David Davidson, bassist and vocalist Anthony Buda and drummer Phil Dubois-Coyne. The band has released seven studio albums, two EPs, and ten music videos since their formation.

Thy Will Be Done

Thy Will Be Done is an American heavy metal band formed in 2005 from Providence, Rhode Island. The ensemble has released the studio albums Was and Is to Come and In Ancient of Days via Stillborn Records, as well as the EP Temple via Eye.On Lion Recordings.
