The IAAF Hall of Fame is a hall of fame which was established by the Italian Athletics Federation (Italian : Federazione Italiana di Atletica Leggera, FIDAL) in 2012. The FIDAL Hall of Fame includes Italian athletes who have excelled in the history of athletics and who meet certain criteria. [1]
The minimum criteria for an athlete to qualify for membership in the Hall of Fame are. [1]
Still-active athletes are not included; gold medals won at the World Athletics Indoor Championships and European Athletics Indoor Championships are also not included. The only athlete included unconditionally is marathon runner Dorando Pietri.[ citation needed ]
As of 26 August 2018, there are 42 members: 34 men and 8 women. [2]

Giovanni De Benedictis is a retired Italian race walker, that won 9 medals at individual level, 7 of these at senior level, at the International athletics competitions. He participated at five editions of the Summer Olympics, this like only two others Italian athletes in track and field: the other racewalker champion Abdon Pamich and the sprinter Pietro Mennea. He also won four medals at the IAAF World Race Walking Cup team events.
Fabrizio Mori is an Italian hurdler, best known for his gold medal at the 1999 World Championships.
Andrew Howe is an American-born Italian athlete who specializes in the long jump and sprinting. He won this event as well as the 200 metres at the 2004 World Junior Championships. He was successful at senior level at a young age, winning a long jump bronze at the 2006 IAAF World Indoor Championships before becoming the European Champion later that year. In 2007 he became the European Indoor Champion and won the silver medal at the 2007 World Championships in Athletics.
