FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2007

The FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2007 were the 39th FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, held 2–18 February in Åre, Sweden. Åre previously hosted the world championships in 1954, and often hosts late season World Cup events.

The Men's Downhill competition at the 2011 World Championships was the fourth race of the championships, run under spring-like conditions on Saturday, February 12. At the start of the race at 11:00 am CET, the temperature was 3 C at the starting gate and 9 C at the finish area. Mostly in the shade, the north-facing slope of the Kandahar 2 course at Garmisch Classic had a vertical drop of 920 m (3018 ft). Fifty four athletes from 24 countries competed.

The men's combined competition of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi was held on Friday, 14 February, at Rosa Khutor Alpine Resort near Krasnaya Polyana, Russia.

The women's combined competition of the Sochi 2014 Olympics was held at the Rosa Khutor Alpine Resort near Krasnaya Polyana, Russia, on 10 February at 11:00 MSK for the downhill and at 15:00 MSK for the slalom. Maria Höfl-Riesch won the gold medal.

The Men's Downhill competition of the Nagano 1998 Olympics was held at Hakuba on Friday, February 13. Originally scheduled for Sunday, the race was postponed several times due to heavy snow, followed by rain and gusty winds.

The men's downhill competition of the PyeongChang 2018 Olympics was held on Thursday, 15 February, at the Jeongseon Alpine Centre in PyeongChang. Scheduled for Sunday, 11 February, winds in excess of 50 km/h (31 mph) forced officials to postpone the race four days.

The women's combined competition of the PyeongChang 2018 Olympics was held on 22 February 2018 at the Jeongseon Alpine Centre and the Yongpyong Alpine Centre at the Alpensia Sports Park in PyeongChang.
