Jared Goldberg (born June 17, 1991) is an American World Cup alpine ski racer, a member of the U.S. Ski Team , and resident of Holladay, Utah. [3]
Goldberg was the 2010 U.S. Junior Championships combined champion, and won the downhill title in the 2013 U.S. Championships. Goldberg competed for the United States in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, and the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea.
Goldberg was born in Boston, Massachusetts, to Don (the owner of a computer consultants temporary staffing company) and Annette Goldberg (a nurse). [4] [5] [6] [7] His parents, both part-time ski instructors, met for the first time at Killington Ski Resort in Vermont. [4] His family moved to Utah when he was four years old, and he was raised in the Sugar House neighborhood of Salt Lake City. [8] He is Jewish and had his Bar Mitzvah celebration in a ski lodge. [9]
Goldberg attended Skyline High School in Salt Lake City, where he played the midfield position in lacrosse and was also on the golf team. [6] [10] He attends Westminster College, where he studies mechanical engineering. [8] [6] [11] His teammates call him “Goldie.” [12]
Goldberg's club is Snowbird Sports Education Foundation. [8] He first started competing in both skiing and snowboarding. [4]
Goldberg was the 2010 U.S. Junior Championships combined champion, and took second in Junior downhill and third in junior giant slalom (GS) in the 2011 U.S. Junior Championships. [8] He took third in Super-G (SG) at the 2012 U.S. Championships. [8]
Goldberg won the downhill title in the 2013 U.S. Championships in Copper Mountain, Colorado, where he also took second in SG. [8] He took third in GS at the 2014 U.S. Championships. [8]
In 2013, Goldberg was the overall Nor-Am Champion, competing in three different circuits that season; Nor-Am Cup, Europa Cup, and World Cup.
Goldberg represented the United States at the 2014 Winter Olympics and competed in Sochi, Russia, finishing 11th in the combined and 19th in the giant slalom. [13] [8] [1] At 22 years of age, he was the youngest member of the 2014 US Men's Alpine Team. [14]
In the 2015 World Championships, Goldberg had the third-fastest downhill run, AC, in Vail/Beaver Creek. [8] In 2016, skiing at Snowbird in Utah, his left ski hit a hidden tree trunk and he snapped his Achilles tendon. [15]
In 2017, he competed in the World Championships in St. Moritz, Switzerland, in February, [16] and took second place in SG at the U.S. Alpine Championships in March. [17] In December, he gained his first World Cup top ten finish with ninth place in the downhill at Val Gardena, Italy. [18] [19]
At the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea, Goldberg was 20th in the downhill, 24th in the super-G, and 36th at the combined. [20]

Theodore Sharp Ligety is a retired American alpine ski racer, a two-time Olympic gold medalist, and an entrepreneur, having cofounded Shred Optics. Ligety won the combined event at the 2006 Olympics in Turin and the giant slalom race at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi. He is also a five-time World Cup champion in giant slalom. Ligety won the gold medal in the giant slalom at the 2011 World Championships. He successfully defended his world title in giant slalom in 2013 in Schladming, Austria, where he also won an unexpected gold medal in the super-G and a third gold medal in the super combined.
The Skiing Cochrans are a family of American alpine ski racers from Richmond, Vermont, a dominant force on the U.S. Ski Team in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and again in 2000s, 2010s and 2020s.
Erik Guay is a Canadian former World Cup alpine ski racer. Racing out of Mont-Tremblant, Quebec, Guay won the World Cup season title in super-G in 2010 and was the world champion in downhill in 2011, as well as in the super-G in 2017. With 25 World Cup podiums, he is the career leader for Canada.
Aksel Lund Svindal is a Norwegian former World Cup alpine ski racer. Born in Lørenskog in Akershus county, Svindal is a two-time overall World Cup champion, an Olympic gold medalist in super-G at the 2010 Winter Olympics and in downhill at the 2018 Winter Olympics, and a five-time World Champion in downhill, giant slalom, and super combined. With his victory in the downhill in 2013, Svindal became the first male alpine racer to win titles in four consecutive world championships.
Steven Nyman is a World Cup alpine ski racer on the U.S. Ski Team. Formerly a slalom skier, he is now a speed specialist, with a main focus on downhill.

Kjetil Jansrud is a Norwegian former World Cup alpine ski racer and Olympic champion. He competed in all alpine disciplines apart from slalom, and his best event was the giant slalom where he has six World Cup podiums and an Olympic silver medal. Since 2012, he had concentrated on the speed events, where all but two of his World Cup victories had come. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, he won the super-G and placed third in the downhill. At the World Championships in 2019 at Åre, Jansrud won gold in the downhill. Kjetil is the current host of popular tv reality show Alt for Norge.
Christina Weirather is a retired Liechtensteiner World Cup alpine ski racer. She won a bronze medal in Super-G for Liechtenstein at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.

Federica Brignone is an Italian World Cup alpine ski racer. She competes in all alpine disciplines, with a focus on giant slalom and super-G. Brignone won the World Cup overall title in 2020, becoming the first Italian female to achieve this feat. She is also an Olympic and World Championship medalist. At the 2022 Winter Olympics, she won a silver medal in the giant slalom and a bronze in the combined.

Aleksander Aamodt Kilde is a Norwegian World Cup alpine ski racer. He competes in four events, with a main focus on super-G and downhill. Kilde hails from Bærum and represents the sports club Lommedalens IL.
Ester Ledecká is a Czech snowboarder and alpine skier. At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, Ledecká won gold medals in the super-G in alpine skiing and in the parallel giant slalom in snowboarding, becoming the first person to not only compete in the Winter Olympics using two different types of equipment but to go further and win two gold medals and do so at the same Winter Olympics. She was the second woman to win an Olympic gold in two separate disciplines but the first to do so at the same Winter Olympics. She was the first Czech to win the parallel giant slalom in snowboarding at the FIS Snowboard World Cup.
Christian Geiger is an Australian Alpine skier, Paralympic alpine ski coach and sighted guide for visually impaired skiers. He was Jessica Gallagher's guide skier at the 2014 Winter Paralympics in Sochi, winning a bronze medal. He represented Australia at the 2008 World Junior Alpine Skiing Championships and the 2009 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, but his career was cut short when he was severely injured in a traffic collision in 2009. He became Jessica Gallagher's sighted guide in 2013, and guided her to silver medals in women's slalom and giant slalom at the 2013 IPC Alpine Skiing World Cup in Thredbo. Geiger was Melissa Perrine's guide and coach at the 2018 Winter Paralympics where she won two bronze medals.
Brice Roger is a World Cup alpine ski racer from France. From Bourg-Saint-Maurice, Savoie, he specializes in the speed events of downhill and super-G. He made his World Cup debut at age twenty in January 2011.
