Fairmont Downtown Historic District is a national historic district located at Fairmont, Marion County, West Virginia. The district includes 97 contributing buildings and two contributing structures in Fairmont's central business district. They are in a variety of late 19th- and early 20th-century architectural styles. Notable buildings include the Watson Building (1909–1911), U.S. Court House and Post Office (1940), Monongahela Valley Traction Freight House (1927), the Jacobs and Hutchinson complex, and the Library (1914). The Marion County Courthouse and Sheriff's House and Robert H. Mollohan-Jefferson Street Bridge are located in the district and listed separately on the National Register of Historic Places. [2]

Fairmont is a city in and county seat of Marion County, West Virginia, United States. The population was 18,313 at the 2020 census, making it the eighth-largest city in the state. It is the principal city of the Fairmont micropolitan area, which includes all of Marion County in North Central West Virginia and had a population of 56,205 in 2020. Fairmont is also a principal city of the larger Morgantown–Fairmont combined statistical area.

The Marion County Courthouse is a Beaux-Arts style building in Fairmont, West Virginia, in the United States. The courthouse was constructed from 1897 to 1900, and was designed by the architectural firm of Yost & Packard of Columbus, Ohio. Its dome is topped by a figure carrying the scales of justice.
Town of Bath Historic District is a national historic district located at Berkeley Springs, Morgan County, West Virginia. The district encompasses 218 contributing buildings, 3 contributing sites, 6 contributing structures, and 1 contributing object. It consists of the community's central business district, along with the previously listed Berkeley Springs State Park, a small industrial area east of the downtown, and residential areas surrounding the downtown which also contain several churches and two cemeteries. The buildings are generally two stories in height and are primarily built of brick, wood, and concrete block, and set on foundations of native limestone and brick. Located within the district boundaries are the previously listed Berkeley Springs Train Depot, T. H. B. Dawson House, the Clarence Hovermale House also known as the Mendenhall 1884 Inn, the Sloat-Horn-Rossell House, and the Judge John W. Wright Cottage.
Sutton Downtown Historic District is a national historic district located at Sutton, Braxton County, West Virginia. It encompasses 85 contributing buildings and two contributing structures covering eleven square blocks. The district includes the commercial, ecclesiastical, and civic core of the town and surrounding residential area. The district includes a number of buildings representative of popular architectural styles from the late-19th century and early-20th century including Romanesque Revival, Colonial Revival, Gothic Revival, and Greek Revival. Notable buildings include the Braxton County Courthouse (1881-1882) and Jail (1905), Sutton Bank Building (1891), Farmers Bank and Trust (1909), Bank of Sutton, Methodist Episcopal Church, South (1896), Kelly / Fisher House. Elk / Midway Hotel (1894), and Katie B. Frame Residence. The two structures are the Bridge over Old Woman Run (1892) and Bridge over Elk (1930).
West Union Downtown Historic District is a national historic district located at West Union, Doddridge County, West Virginia. It encompasses 27 contributing buildings that include the commercial and civic core of the town, and surrounding residential buildings. The district includes a number of buildings representative of popular architectural styles from the late-19th century and early-20th century including Romanesque Revival, Neoclassical, and Queen Anne. Notable buildings include the Doddridge County Courthouse (1903) and Jail, Scott W. Stuart House, Silas P. Smith House, Town Hall (1893), Droppleman Residence, Michel's Pharmacy (1925). It encompasses 57 contributing buildings and one contributing structure that include the civic and commercial core of Buckhannon. Most of the buildings in the district date from the late-19th and early-20th century in popular architectural styles, such as Italianate, Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, and Classical Revival. Notable buildings include the Presbyterian Church on Locust Street (1879), T. L. Stockert Building (1908), Peoples Bank Building (1910), Upshur County Court House, and U.S. Post Office (1916).
Downtown Huntington Historic District is a national historic district located at Huntington, Cabell County, West Virginia. The original district encompassed 59 contributing buildings; the boundary increase added 53 more contributing buildings. It includes the central business district of Huntington, and includes several of its municipal and governmental buildings. It contains the majority of the historic concentration of downtown commercial buildings. Notable buildings include the Huntington City Hall, Johnson Memorial Church (c.1886/1912/1935), Trinity Episcopal Church (1882), Davis Opera House, Love Hardware Building, Reuschleins Jewelry building (1923), the Newcomb Building, the Morrison Building (1919), Keith-Albee Theater (1928), West Virginia Building, and Gideon Building. Located in the district are the separately listed Carnegie Public Library, Cabell County Courthouse, U.S. Post Office and Court House, and Campbell-Hicks House.
Clarksburg Downtown Historic District is a national historic district located at Clarksburg, Harrison County, West Virginia. The district encompasses 119 contributing buildings in 16 blocks of the central business district of Clarksburg. It includes an extraordinary variety of architectural types and styles including Renaissance Revival and Italianate. Notable buildings include the Goff Building (1911), Municipal Building (1888) [demolished], the Waldo Hotel (1901–1904), Robinson Grand, Harrison County Courthouse (1931-1932), U.S. Post Office (1932), Masonic Temple (1911–1914), Merchant's National Bank (1894), First United Presbyterian Church (1894), and First Methodist Church. Located in the district and separately listed are Waldomore and the Stealey-Goff-Vance House. The Nathan Goff, Jr. House was delisted in 1994.

Weston Downtown Historic District is a national historic district located at Weston, Lewis County, West Virginia. The district includes 58 contributing buildings in the central business district of Weston. Most of the buildings were built between 1875 and 1920, with the earliest dating to about 1845. Notable buildings include the U.S. Post Office (1933–1934), the Art Deco style Citizens Bank of Weston (1930), B&O Railroad Depot / Weston Municipal Building, Camden Building-Weston National Bank (1896–1897), Old Citizen's Bank Building (1893), Bennett House, Fuccy-Koblegard Building, and the East and West Second Street Truss Bridge (1922). The district includes the separately listed Jonathan M. Bennett House.
Weston Downtown Residential Historic District is a national historic district located at Weston, Lewis County, West Virginia. The district includes 193 contributing buildings and 3 contributing structures in a primarily residential district. The dwellings are generally two-story and rest on stone foundations. They are reflective of popular architectural styles from the 19th and early-20th centuries. The earliest house dates to 1839. The district includes the separately listed Weston Colored School.
Colonial Apartments, also known as the Kennedy Dairy Barn, is a historic building located at Fairmont, Marion County, West Virginia. It is a three-story, gambrel roof building in the Colonial Revival style. It was built about 1900 as a barn and modified to its present form about 1942. Those modifications included adding a stone veneer, two hip roof porches, and the addition of a small end gable entrance portico with a partial return and Tuscan order columns. Also on the property is two-story side gable former milk house. It was converted to two apartment units at the same time the barn was converted to an apartment building.
Thomas W. Fleming House, also known as the Clubhouse of the Women's Club of Fairmont, is a historic home located at Fairmont, Marion County, West Virginia. It was built in 1901, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, "U"-shaped, stucco masonry building in a Colonial Revival / Beaux-Arts style. It has a rectangular central block that is joined at the rear by two short wings. It features rounded, glass-enclosed entrance solarium. It became the clubhouse of the Fairmont Woman's Club in 1938. Its builder, Thomas W. Fleming (1846-1937), served two terms as mayor of Fairmont and was elected to the House of Delegates in 1905.
Jacobs-Hutchinson Block, also known as Peoples' National Bank and Friendly Furniture Store, is a historic commercial building located at Fairmont, Marion County, West Virginia. It was built in 1902, and is a five-story commercial structure with a basement and a flat roof in the Renaissance Revival style. It is a steel column and beam structure, sheathed with pressed brick, blue stone, and terra cotta. It rests on a stone foundation. It measures 92 feet by 80 feet deep and 84 feet high. The building has housed department stores, a bank, a furniture store, and law offices.
Shaw House is a historic home and national historic district located at Fairmont, Marion County, West Virginia. The district includes two contributing buildings and two contributing structures. The main house was built in 1919, and is a 2+1⁄2-story dwelling in the Tudor Revival style. It features brick and stucco wall cladding punctuated with simulated half-timbering, and tall chimney stacks. Also on the property are a contributing garage, well house, and entrance pavilion. The house was built for Harry Shaw, a noted attorney and jurist of the early 20th century in north-central West Virginia.
