Swabi District is a district in the Mardan Division of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan. It lies between the Indus and Kabul Rivers. Before becoming a district in 1988,it was a tehsil within the Mardan District. 96% of the population speaks Pashto as their first language.
The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,is the provincial government of the Pakistani province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The head of the province is known as the Governor,appointed by the federal government,on behalf of the President,while the administrative boss of the province is Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Shahram Khan Tarakai is a Pakistani politician who was Provincial Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa of Local Government,Elections and Rural Development,in office from 29 August 2018 till 26 January 2020. He is currently a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since February 2024 and had been a member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from August 2018 till January 2023.

As minister,he stated that he would prioritize developing the livestock sector.
Mahmood Khan is a Pakistani politician who was the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from August 2018 till January 2023 and a member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). He had been a member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from August 2018 till January 2023,when he,as Chief Minister,dissolved the Assembly. His tenure as Chief Minister saw various healthcare initiatives surrounding the Sehat Insaf Card,where he primarily focused on expanding the card to achieve universal free healthcare.
Arshad Ayub Khan is a Pakistani politician and businessman who is currently Provincial Minister for Local Government,Elections and Rural Development for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the Gandapur ministry. He has been a member Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since his election 28 February 2024. Previously he had been a member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from August 2018 till January 2023.
Pakhtoon Yar Khan is a Pakistani politician from Bannu who is currently serving as Provincial Minister of Public Health Engineering for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the Gandapur ministry. He is a member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and is a member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since 28 February 2024. Prior to this he was a member of the assembly from August 2018 to January 2023. His father,Attaullah Jan,was also a seasoned politician.
