Fazal Muhammad Khan is a Pakistani politician who has been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since February 2024. He previously served as a member from August 2018 till July 2022. [1]
He ran for the National Assembly of Pakistan as a candidate of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) from NA-7 Charsadda-I in the 2013 Pakistani general election,but was unsuccessful. He received 40,254 votes and was defeated by Muhammad Gohar Shah,a candidate of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) (JUI(F)). [2]
He was elected to the National Assembly as a candidate of the PTI from NA-24 (Charsadda-II) in the 2018 Pakistani general election. [3] He received 83,495 votes and defeated Asfandyar Wali Khan,a candidate and the leader of the Awami National Party (ANP).
On April 10,2022,because of the no-confidence motion against Imran Khan,he resigned from the National Assembly on the orders of Imran Khan. The new government did not accept the resignations of many members for fear of deteriorating the number of members in the assembly. However,Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf accepted the resignations of eleven members on 28 July 2022,with one of them was Fazal Muhammad Khan's. Later,a by-election was held on his seat,in which Imran Khan had emerged victorious. [4]
He was re-elected as a PTI (officially Independent) candidate from NA-25 Charsadda-II in the 2024 Pakistani general election,after securing 1,00,713 votes,while the runner-up,Aimal Wali Khan of ANP bagged 67,876 votes. [5]
Omar Ayub Khan is a Pakistani politician who is currently serving as the Leader of the Opposition. He was the last Federal Minister for Economic Affairs under the Prime Ministership of Imran Khan from April 2021 until April 2022. He previously served as Federal Minister for Energy from 11 September 2018 to 16 April 2021. He had been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from August 2018 till January 2023. He is the grandson of the former President of Pakistan,Field Marshal Ayub Khan and the son of Gohar Ayub Khan,who was also a politician. Previously,he served as a member of the National Assembly from 2002 to 2007 and again from 2014 to 2015. He also served as the Minister of State for Finance in the federal cabinet from 2004 to 2007. He has served as Secretary General of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf since he assumed the role on 27 May 2023. He resigned from the position on 4 September 2024 and his resignation was accepted by Imran Khan on 7 September.
Arif-ur-Rehman Alvi is a Pakistani politician who served as the 13th president of Pakistan,in office from 2018 to 2024. He was a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from June 2013 to May 2018 and again from August to September 2018. Alvi was a dentist before entering politics in 1979,when he joined Jamaat-e-Islami (Pakistan),but resigned later on from the party and then joined former cricketer Imran Khan's party in 1996 and is amongst the founding members of PTI.
NA-25 Charsadda-II is a constituency for the National Assembly of Pakistan. The constituency was formerly known as NA-7 (Charsadda-I) from 1977 to 2018. The name changed to NA-24 (Charsadda-II) after the delimitation in 2018 and to NA-25 (Charsadda-II) after the delimitation in 2022.

General elections were held in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday,25 July 2018 to elect the 51 members of 15th National Assembly from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) obtained a landslide victory in the province by winning 37 general seats and increased their margin of victory from 2013. The PTI also won 8 out of 10 reserved seats while the Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N) and Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) won 1 reserved seat each.
By-elections were held on 8 National Assembly and 3 Punjab Assembly constituencies in Pakistan on 16 October 2022 and 1 National Assembly seat on 30 October 2022. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf got a landslide victory by winning 7 out of 9 National Assembly and 2 out of 3 Punjab Assembly seats whereas the Pakistan Democratic Movement,an alliance of 14 parties,was only able to win 2 National Assembly seats and 1 Punjab Assembly seat.
