The men's team foil competition at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta was held on 24 August at the Jakarta Convention Center. [1] [2] China leads with five gold medals in this event, while South Korea and Japan were in the second and third position with 3 and 2 gold medals respectively. The other countries that ever won medals in this event were Hong Kong with 4 bronzes and Iran with a bronze. [3]

South Korean team emerged as the champion in the men's team foil event for the third times after the victorious in 1986 Seoul and 1994 Hiroshima. [3] [4] The team defeated the top seeded Hong Kong with the score 45–37 in the final. Hong Kong team settled for the silver medal, while China and Japan teams who were beaten in the semifinals clinched the bronze medal. [2] [5]

China at the Olympics Participation of athletes from the Peoples Republic of China in the Olympic Games

Originally having participated in Olympics as the delegation of the Republic of China (ROC) from 1924 to 1976, China competed at the Olympic Games under the name of the People's Republic of China (PRC) for the first time in 1952, at the Summer Games in Helsinki, Finland, although they only arrived in time to participate in one event. Alison Yu Chui Yee is a wheelchair fencer from Hong Kong. When she was 11 years old, she suffered from bone cancer, leading to the amputation of her left leg. She began as a swimmer but switched to fencing at the age of 17. At the 2004 Summer Paralympics, she won four gold medals in both the individual and team events of épée and foil. She was the first athlete to win four gold medals in fencing in category A in 2004. At the 2008 Summer Paralympics, she represented Hong Kong again, but since the team matches were canceled, she only won one gold and one silver medal in the individual events.

Joey Chan Ho-ling, known as Joey Chan, is a professional squash player who represents Hong Kong. She reached a career-high world ranking of World No. 16 in May 2012. Huang Mengkai of China managed to claim the gold medal after won the final match against Nicholas Choi of Hong Kong with the score 11–10. Choi settled for the silver medal, and the bronze medal goes to Son Young-ki of South Korea and Cheung Ka Long of Hong Kong.

The men's team sabre competition at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta was held on 23 August at the Jakarta Convention Center. South Korea team defend the men's team sabre title and captured the gold medal after beat Iranian team 45–32 in the final. The Iranian team is entitled to a silver medal, while the bronze medal won by Chinese and Hong Kong team.

The women's team épée competition at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta was held on 24 August at the Jakarta Convention Center. China team emerged as the champion in this event after beat South Korea with the score 29–28 in the final. This edition, made the China team has collected five gold medals throughout the women's team épée event at the Asian Games. The silver medal captured by South Korean team, and the bronze medals goes to Hong Kong and Japan team.

The women's team foil competition at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta was held on 23 August at the Jakarta Convention Center. South Korean team was the defending champion in this event after won the last five gold medals from 1998 to 2014. Japan clinched their first gold medal in this event at the Asian Games after defeated the Chinese team with the score 35–34 in the final. China captured the silver medal, while Singapore and South Korean team won the bronze medal.

Huang Mengkai is a Chinese foil fencer. In 2018, he won the men's foil event at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia. He also won the bronze medal in the men's team foil event.

Kaylin Hsieh Sin-yan is a Hong Kong fencer. She won one of the bronze medals in the women's team épée event at the 2018 Asian Games held in Jakarta, Indonesia. In 2021, she represented Hong Kong at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.

Kyosuke Matsuyama Japanese fencer
