Venezuela competed at the 1956 Summer Olympics held in Melbourne, Australia, and in the equestrian events held in Stockholm, Sweden. Twenty-two competitors, all men, were selected by the Venezuelan Olympic Committee to take part in sixteen events across five sports. The delegation featured no female competitors, for the second time, and won no medals. While most of the Venezuelan athletes did not advance past the qualifying rounds of their sports, there were some good placings in the shooting, with Germán Briceño and Carlos Monteverde finishing in the top 10 of their events.
Fiji sent a delegation to compete at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, from 17 July to 1 August 1976. This was the nation's fifth appearance at a Summer Olympic Games. Their first appearance was at the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne, Australia. Fiji's delegation consisted of two competitors. Tony Moore who made it to the quarter-finals of the 200m sprint and round 1 in the 100m sprint. After not starting in the 400m sprint, he only made the qualification stage of the long jump. The other athlete was Miriama Tuisorisori-Chambault who competed in the women's pentathlon and long jump. She finished 18th overall in the pentathlon and 27th in qualifying for the long jump. She would not start in the 100m hurdles.

Dominica competed in the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games held in the British Crown Dependency of Isle of Man from September 7 to 13, 2011. Their participation marked their second Commonwealth Youth Games appearance. The Dominican delegation consisted of four competitors who competed in two different sports. This was a decrease in the number of athletes from the nation's last appearance at the Games, when five athletes were sent to Pune. Shanica Yankey won a bronze medal in the javelin throw with a best throw of 38.08 m. Yankey was the only medal winner for Dominica, and the country finished last in the medal table, in 22nd position, sharing the position with nine other Commonwealth Games Associations. Yankey's was the first medal for Dominica in the history of the Games.
In India, the sport of athletics was introduced during the period of the British Raj. The sport is governed at national level by the Athletics Federation of India, which was formed in 1946. Despite its large population, few Indian athletes have won a medal in a global or major championship. This began to change in the 21st century, when Indians started taking greater interest in athletics more generally and improved facilities for the sport began to be built at a local level. At a continental level, it has been among the more successful Asian nations, though some distance behind China and Japan.
Derek Drouin is a Canadian track and field athlete who competes in the high jump. He won gold at the 2016 Summer Olympics, and was the 2015 World Champion. He also won gold at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and the 2015 Pan American Games, and won a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics and a bronze medal at the 2013 World Championships. Drouin was originally awarded the bronze at the 2012 Olympics which was retroactively changed to silver when the original gold medalist Ukhov was stripped of his medal for doping violations.

His wife Maria Liku also represented Fiji in weightlifting at the 2012 Summer Olympics, while his younger sister, Seruwaia Malani, competed at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Ella Azura Pardy is an Australian Paralympic athlete who competes in the T38 100m, 200m and long jump. She represented Australia at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in long jump and the 2015 IPC Athletics World Championships. She represented Australia at the 2016 Rio Paralympics in athletics where she won a bronze medal and the 2020 Summer Paralympics.

Nia Misikea is a Niuean track and field athlete who specializes in shot put and javelin. He competed for Niue at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in the men's javelin throw and the 2018 Commonwealth Games in the men's shot put and men's javelin throw. At the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Misikea threw a distance of 47.95 metres and finished 22nd of 22 athletes that competed, his fellow athlete Ikipa Misikea came 21st and set a new national records of 51.68 metres, neither of them qualified for the final. This national records Nia Misikea broke later at the 2017 Pacific Mini Games with a distance of 53.91 metres. At the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Misikea competed in men's shot put and men's javelin throw along with Loe Kaufisi. In both events, Misikea beat Kaufisi but in both events they finished below all of the other competitors. Misikea did however, set a new national record in the shot put after he registered a 12.13 metre put, he still finished 3.69 metres behind the next closest athlete, Mustafa Fall from Fiji and did not qualify to the final. In the javelin throw, his best throw was 47.73 metres, this finished him 5.11 metres behind the next closest competitor, Imo Fiamalua from Tuvalu and didn't qualify for the final once again.
