Final Destination: Bloodlines is an upcoming American supernatural horror film directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein and written by Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor. It is the sixth installment of the Final Destination franchise.

Development

Prior to the release of Final Destination 5 in 2011, series actor Tony Todd stated that if the film were to be successful, two sequels would be filmed back-to-back. [1]

In January 2019, a new installment from New Line Cinema was reported to be in development. Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan initially wrote the script with the plot described as a "re-imagining" of the franchise. [2] In March 2020, series producer Craig Perry said the film would "take place in the world of first responders" featuring EMTs, firefighters, and police officers. When asked if the story was set in the same canon as the previous installments, he said "reboot is probably too strong of a word ... it makes it sound like they're going to change everything, but it's definitely a Final Destination movie". [3] In October, series creator Jeffrey Reddick confirmed that a sixth film had been in the works prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. [4]

In October 2021, Lori Evans Taylor was reported to be the new writer for the film. [5] In January 2022, HBO Max announced that it would distribute the film, Jon Watts joined the project as a producer, and Taylor was confirmed to have written the screenplay alongside Guy Busick. [6] In July, Reddick said that the film would differ from the franchise's formula. [7] In September, Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein were selected from over two hundred candidates to direct the film. During a Zoom meeting with executives and producers from New Line to make their pitch, Lipovsky and Stein staged a freak accident like the ones in the film franchise at the end of the call; insiders said the joke, which featured a combination of prerecorded footage and visual effects and showed the filmmakers' passion for the film, sealed the deal and got them hired. Casting

In September 2023, Bloody Disgusting reported that Tony Todd had signed on to reprise his role as William Bludworth. The film will explore the character's backstory. [9] In March 2024, Brec Bassinger, Teo Briones, Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Richard Harmon, Anna Lore, Owen Patrick Joyner, Max Lloyd-Jones, Rya Kihlstedt, and Tinpo Lee joined the cast in undisclosed roles. [10]

Filming

Principal photography was scheduled to take place in Vancouver, British Columbia, from July 31 to October 13, 2023, [11] but in mid-July, production was delayed due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. [12] With Christian Sebaldt serving as cinematographer, filming took place in Vancouver from March 4 to May 6, 2024. [13] [14]

Final Destination: Bloodlines is scheduled to be released in the United States by Warner Bros. Pictures in 2025. [13]

Cook portrays a woman who "cheats death" after having a premonition of herself and others perishing in a highway pile-up and uses it by saving herself and a handful of people, but is stalked by Death afterwards by means of claiming back their lives which should have been lost in the highway. It also explores the cliffhanger of the preceding film by revealing the fates of the previous survivors.

Final Destination 3 is a 2006 American supernatural horror film directed by James Wong. A standalone sequel to Final Destination 2 (2003), it is the third installment in the Final Destination film series. Wong and Glen Morgan, who worked on the franchise's first film, wrote the screenplay. Final Destination 3 stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Ryan Merriman, and takes place years after the first film. Winstead plays Wendy Christensen, a high school graduate who has a premonition that a roller coaster she and her classmates are riding will derail. Although she saves some of them, Death begins hunting the survivors. Wendy realizes photographs she took at the amusement park contain clues about her classmates' deaths. With survivor and friend Kevin Fischer (Merriman), Wendy tries to use this knowledge to save the rest of the survivors and ruin Death's scheme.
