Fiondella Field is a baseball venue located on the campus of the University of Hartford in West Hartford, Connecticut, United States. It is home to the Hartford Hawks baseball team, a member of the NCAA Division III Commonwealth Coast Conference. The stadium hosted its first game on March 29, 2006. It holds a capacity of 1,000 spectators and includes dugouts, batting cages, and a modern scoreboard over the left field fence.
Prior to the field's construction, Hartford's baseball program played at several venues in central Connecticut following its move off campus in the mid-1980s. These venues included New Britain's Beehive Field, Bristol's Muzzy Field, East Hartford's Ray McKenna Field, and Simsbury's Memorial Field. [1]
Ground was broken on the venue in April 2005. [1] The venue opened on March 29, 2006, and Hartford's first game there was against Massachusetts. Hartford won the game, 6–2. [2]
Through the 2009 season, the field was known as the Hartford Baseball Field. In a ceremony on October 4, 2009, the venue was renamed Fiondella Field, in honor of the Fiondella family, primarily businessman Robert Fiondella, because of his involvement in the Hartford community. [3]
The West Hartford amateur baseball association sponsors the annual mayor's cup baseball game at Fiondella Field. It is the final game of season between rivals Conard High School and Hall High School. [4]
Frederick U. Conard High School is a public high school in West Hartford, in the U.S. state of Connecticut. It opened in 1957, and was named after Frederick Underwood Conard, president of Niles-Bement-Pond Company and chairman of the local Board of Education when plans for the school were approved. Conard is one of two West Hartford public high schools, the other being Hall High School.
Total Mortgage Arena is a 10,000-seat multi-purpose arena in downtown Bridgeport, Connecticut, United States. It is the home venue of the Bridgeport Islanders of the American Hockey League (AHL). Managed by the Oak View Group, the arena was built alongside the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater and opened on October 10, 2001. Webster Bank entered into a 10-year $3.5 million agreement on January 6, 2011 with the City of Bridgeport for the arena naming rights. When this agreement ended, the City entered into a new one on March 8, 2022, that granted the naming rights to Total Mortgage of Milford, Connecticut.
Hawks Field at Haymarket Park is a baseball stadium in the Haymarket District of Lincoln, Nebraska. It is less than a mile west of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln (NU) and is the home venue of the school's baseball team and the Lincoln Saltdogs of the American Association of Professional Baseball. The thirty-two acre Haymarket Park complex, jointly financed by the city of Lincoln and NU, was completed in 2001 at a cost of $29.53 million. Hawks Field is adjacent to the smaller Bowlin Stadium, which hosts Nebraska's softball team.
George H.W. Bush Field is a stadium in West Haven, Connecticut, just across the city line with New Haven, Connecticut. It is primarily used for the Yale University baseball team, the Bulldogs, and, until 2007 was also the home field of the New Haven County Cutters Canadian-American Association of Professional Baseball minor league baseball team. Yale's baseball team has played continuously at the same site since 1885 while the field was constructed and opened in April 1928.

Muzzy Field is a stadium in Bristol, Connecticut adjacent to Rockwell Park. In 1912, it was given to the Public Welfare Association in the city of Bristol by Commissioner Adrian Muzzy in memory of his two sons, for the express purpose of amateur athletics, officially opening on 8 July 1914, for both baseball and football. In 1939, after a fire, the 4,900-capacity brick-faced grandstand was built. It features a ring of tall pine trees that line the outside of the outfield wall and the grandstand.

It is primarily used for baseball and was the home of the New Britain Red Sox from the time of their move to the city in 1983 until moving next door to New Britain Stadium for the 1995 season. The Eastern League All-Star Game was played before 3,106 fans on June 29, 1987, with league-MVP Mark Grace and game-MVP Dwight Smith representing the Pittsfield Cubs. The Hartford Hawks baseball program used the venue for some home games prior to opening Fiondella Field in 2006.

J. O. Christian Field was a baseball stadium in Storrs-Mansfield, Connecticut. It was the home field of the Connecticut Huskies baseball team of the NCAA Division I's American Athletic Conference from 1968 through 2019. The stadium held seating for 2,000 people. It was named after former UConn baseball coach and athletic director, J. Orlean Christian. UConn played their last game at J.O. Christian field on May 11, 2019, with demolition the following month.
The Mississippi State Bulldogs baseball team is the varsity intercollegiate baseball team representing Mississippi State University in NCAA Division I college baseball. CCSU Baseball Field is a baseball venue in New Britain, Connecticut, United States. It is home to the Central Connecticut Blue Devils baseball team of the NCAA Division I Northeast Conference. It features an artificial turf surface, an electronic scoreboard, bullpens, batting cages, dugouts, and a covered press box.

The Central Connecticut–Hartford rivalry refers to the American collegiate athletics rivalry between the Central Connecticut Blue Devils sports teams of Central Connecticut State University and Hartford Hawks sports teams of the University of Hartford. The two campuses are located 10 miles apart. Unlike most in-state rivalries Hartford and Central Connecticut compete in difference conferences. Hartford competes in the America East Conference and Central Connecticut competes in the Northeast Conference. On May 6, 2021 the University of Hartford board of regents voted to transition the university’s athletic program from Division I to Division III, putting the future of the rivalry in doubt.
Elliot Ballpark is a baseball stadium on the main campus of the University of Connecticut (UConn) in Storrs-Mansfield, Connecticut, United States. It is the home field of the UConn Huskies baseball team of NCAA Division I's Big East Conference. The stadium is designed to seat 1,500 people, with additional space on grass berms which can also accommodate temporary bleachers. It is named after former UConn baseball player Doug Elliot and his family, who provided a major gift towards the construction of the venue.
