Mari Hamada is a Japanese heavy metal and pop rock singer. Since her debut in 1983, Hamada has been known as the "Heavy Metal Queen" of Japan. Throughout her career, she has released 25 singles and 23 studio albums.

Jose Mari Lim Chan, born José Mari Chan y Lim, is a Filipino singer, songwriter, businessman and TV presenter. Regarded as one of the country’s most renowned balladeers and composers, he is popularly dubbed as the "King of Philippine Christmas Carols". As of 2001, Chan's repertoire has sold two million albums and has garnered 37 platinum records to his credit, becoming one of the best-selling Filipino recording artist of all time. He is best-known for his signature song "Christmas In Our Hearts", which is the biggest selling Filipino Christmas song in history, including hits such as "A Perfect Christmas", "Beautiful Girl" and "Please Be Careful with My Heart".

Christian Joseph Morata Bautista is a Filipino singer, actor, host, and model. He was a finalist of Star in a Million, a Philippine reality show aired on ABS-CBN channel, winning 4th place in the competition in 2003. After the contest, he signed a recording contract with Warner Music Philippines and released his self-titled debut album, Christian Bautista. The multiplatinum album established his name as an OPM artist with notable songs such as "The Way You Look at Me" and "Hands to Heaven". The singer gained popularity not only in the Philippines but in other countries in Southeast Asia such as Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. He is currently an exclusive talent of GMA Network.

Indecent Obsession were an Australian pop rock band formed early in 1987 in Brisbane with founding mainstays Daryl Sims on drums and Michael Szumowski on keyboards. By 1988 the line-up also included Andrew Coyne on lead guitar and David Dixon on lead vocals. They released three studio albums, Spoken Words and Indio, both reached the top 50 on the ARIA Albums Chart. In 1990 Spoken Words was repackaged for United States market as Indecent Obsession, which reached the Billboard 200. In May 1989 they issued their debut single, "Say Goodbye", which peaked at No. 6 on the ARIA Singles Chart – their highest position in Australia. Their second single, "Tell Me Something" (September), reached No. 17 nationally. When issued in the US it peaked at No. 31 on the Billboard Hot 100. It reached No. 1 in Indonesia and Hong Kong, and Top 10 in Japan and South Africa. For the Asian market the band used the shortened name, Obsession. In 1992 they were the first Western act to tour South Africa after the lifting of the cultural isolation during the apartheid era. They were "greeted by screaming fans and scenes of mass hysteria", both their second album, Indio, and one of its singles, "Kiss Me", peaked at No. 1 on the relevant South African charts. By 1993 Sims and Szumowski were joined by Mark Gray on bass guitar, Richard Hennassey on lead vocals and Graham Kearns on lead guitar. The following year they issued another studio album, Relativity, before disbanding a year later.

It was later recorded by American rock band Heart in 1985 and was released as the first single from the band's self-titled album, Heart. The song was also their first hit single on their new record label, Capitol Records. Grace Slick and Mickey Thomas, co-lead vocalists of Starship at the time, provide additional background vocals on the song.

Relativity is the third and final studio album by Australian pop rock band Indecent Obsession, released by in June 1994 by Mushroom Records in Australia and MCA Records internationally. It features the single "Fixing a Broken Heart", which the band recorded a second version as a duet with Japanese singer-songwriter Mari Hamada. The album is the first and only release to feature lead vocalist Richard Hennassey and guitarist Graham Kearns, who replaced David Dixon and Andrew Coyne, respectively, after the band relocated to London in 1993.

Introducing... Mari Hamada is the first international release by Japanese singer/songwriter Mari Hamada, released on May 30, 1993, in Asia and January 24, 1994, in Europe by MCA Records. The album was co-produced by Marc Tanner, best known for producing Nelson's debut album After the Rain. Some of the English songs are reworked versions of Hamada's hit singles from previous Japanese releases. Both releases differ wherein the Asian release contains English and Japanese songs, while the European release is all-English. The additional English songs on the European version were compiled in a second Asian release titled All My Heart on August 4, 1994.

An alternative version appears on the band's fourth studio album Synthesis (2017). The track was written by Amy Lee, Terry Balsamo, Tim McCord, Will Hunt and Zach Williams, while production was handled by Nick Raskulinecz. Musically, "My Heart Is Broken" is an uptempo rock ballad, whose instrumentation consists of piano, guitars and drums. Lee revealed that the song was written after seeing victims of sex trafficking. The recording received favorable reviews from music critics, who praised the combination between Lee's vocals and piano playing, as well as its fellow instrumentation; several of them chose it as a highlight on the album.
