State Road 54 (SR 54) is located in the Tampa Bay Area, north of Tampa itself, and runs from US 19 in Elfers in the west to US 301 in Zephyrhills, in the east. In between it passes through Wesley Chapel, Land o' Lakes, and Elfers.
SR 54 is a six-lane divided highway from its western terminus at US 19. In between County Roads 77 and 1 in Seven Springs, the road moves southeast along the Mitchell Bypass, which crosses over the Anclote River the moment it moves away from Old CR 54. The segment between Trinity Boulevard and Gunn Highway in Odessa was rebuilt and relocated along a former Atlantic Coast Line Railroad right-of-way that ran from Pinellas County where much of the Pinellas Trail exists today into Trilby. Pasco County created a gap in this route between the western terminus of State Road 56 and the northern terminus of State Road 581 by exchanging maintenance responsibilities with FDOT for those caused by the newly created SR 56. This western segment of SR 54 became CR 54. This western CR 54 segment has been widened to six lanes from just west of Interstate 75 to the resumption of State Road 54 at State Road 581, and the six lane highway continues eastward as State Road 54 from that point to a point east of Curley Road, where the highway currently (as of 2012) ends. A West Zephyrhills Bypass has been proposed between a location east of the intersection with CR 577 (Curley Road) and the north end of the merger of CR 579 and the eastern segment of CR 54, also known as Eiland Boulevard, near Zephyrhills. [2] In the meantime, State Road 54 remains a two-lane undivided highway from the end of the newer highway to SR 54's eastern terminus at US 301 in downtown Zephyrhills.
The current Florida State Road 54 was established during the great renumbering of 1945, after the original SR 54 was replaced by Florida State Road 85 between Crestview in Okaloosa County and the Alabama State Line north of Walton County.

Besides the gap between SR 56 and SR 581 in Wesley Chapel, County Road 54 is a county extension of SR 54 south of Dade City. It begins at County Road 579 (Morris Bridge Road) west of downtown Zephyrhills and runs north in a short overlap with that road until it curves east, and runs east along Eiland Boulevard, while CR 579 continues north along Handcart Road. This intersection is also the site of the eastern terminus of the proposed West Zephyrhills Bypass. Turning briefly to the southeast it then moves straight east and west along a former segment of North Avenue, only to turn northeast again at the intersection with the existing North Avenue, then turns straight before encountering County Road 41, and then an intersection with U.S. Route 301, where it catches hidden SR 54.
East of US 301 the road runs towards the northeastern outskirts of Zephyrhills. Before this it encounters an intersection with 12th Street and Wire Road, which is where a former segment of SR 54 used to turn north from 12th Street then east to the present CR 54 until that route was relocated to the hidden route along US 301. Once CR 54 leaves the city north of Zephyrhills Municipal Airport it has an intersection with the western terminus of County Road 54 Alternate (see below) on the northwest corner of an at-grade crossing with the CSX Yeoman Subdivision, and east of that crossing encounters a major county road known as CR 535 (Zephyrhills Bypass). From there, the road takes a slight turn to the northeast as it crosses another CSX railroad line known as the Vitis Subdivision, and then runs along the northern border of the Upper Hillsborough Wildlife Management Area. Shifting back straight east and west again, it approaches the southern terminus of Alternate CR 35 in Lumberton, although ALT CR 35 may have overlapped CR 54 east of here at one time. Beyond this point it passes through the aforementioned wildlife management area where it approaches a narrow bridge over the Hillsborough River, thus running along the Pasco-Polk County line, both side of which consist of private property once again until it finally reaches US 98 in Branchborough.

State Road 54A, known locally as Black Lake Road, is a road located in Odessa, Florida totaling 1.097 miles (1.765 km). Portions of the road were once part of State Road 54 until it was realigned to bypass the suburbs it runs along. Despite the realignment, Black Lake Road is still maintained by FDOT. It consists of two separate roads, both named Black Lake Road, as well as a cul de sac, originally connecting to the current SR 54.

County Road 54 Alternate is a bannered alternate of CR 54 east of the Zephyrhills City Limits. It begins on the west side of the CR 54 at-grade crossing of the CSX Yeoman Subdivision, as Forbes Road and almost immediately turns straight north From there it curves east onto Lynbrook Drive and crosses the very same railroad line with an at-grade crossing of its own. The only other road that passes for a major intersection at this point is CR 535 (Zephyrhills Bypass).
Before Lynbrook Road becomes a dead end street in Lumberton, ALT CR 54 makes another north turn onto Elwood Road. It briefly turns northeast onto Merrick Road where it crosses another CSX railroad line known as the Vitis Subdivision, and after passing two dirt roads such as Lena Circle and Bayleaf Street finally turns straight east and west once again. ALT CR 54 remains at this trajectory until it officially ends at Alternate County Road 35, although as with its parent route, ALT CR 54 may have overlapped ALT CR 35 going south back to CR 54 at one time.
U.S. Route 92 or U.S. Highway 92 is a 181-mile (291 km.) U.S. Route entirely in the U.S. state of Florida. The western terminus is at US 19 Alt. and SR 687 in downtown St. Petersburg. The eastern terminus is at SR A1A in Daytona Beach.
State Road 15A is part of the Florida State Road System, and a suffixed alternate of State Road 15. Along with its parent route, SR 15A is signed north–south.
State Road 52 (SR 52) is the major east–west road through northern Pasco County, Florida. The road begins in Bayonet Point at US 19 (SR 55), passes south of San Antonio and St. Leo, and terminates on the south side of Dade City at US 98 and US 301.
State Road 56 is a six-lane state highway 6.7 miles (10.8 km) in length that runs from SR 54 east to US Highway 301 (US 301) in Zephyrhills.
State Road 16 (SR 16) runs from northwest to southeast between Raiford and St. Augustine. It passes through the towns of Starke and Green Cove Springs in addition to providing access to Camp Blanding. Major roads and/or highways that SR 16 crosses include: US 301, SR 21, US 17, SR 13, Interstate 95 and US 1.
State Road 100 is a 153-mile-long (246 km) east–west highway serving northeast Florida. Its western terminus is at the Georgia-Florida border four miles (6.4 km) north of Avoca, Florida ; its eastern terminus is an intersection with Shore Scenic Highway in Flagler Beach. The portion west of Lake City is only signed as portions of US 41 and US 129, both of which run north–south.
State Road 12 (SR 12) is an east–west route in the Florida Panhandle, running from SR 20 in Bristol to U.S. Route 27 (US 27) in Havana.
State Road 44 is an east–west state highway in the U.S. state of Florida. It runs from Crystal River on the Gulf of Mexico east to New Smyrna Beach on the Atlantic Ocean, passing through Inverness, Wildwood, Leesburg and DeLand.

State Road 471 is a two-lane rural highway primarily in Sumter County in the state of Florida. It runs north and south from U.S. Route 98 (US 98) in northwestern Polk County to US 301 near Sumterville in Sumter County.
State Road 48 (SR 48) was an east–west state highway that ran from U.S. Highway 41 in Floral City, Florida, to Florida State Road 19 in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida. In the last years of the route's existence, it was a 2.167 miles (3.487 km) state road in Bushnell, Florida, which ran from Interstate 75 (I-75) at exit 314 to U.S. Highway 301 (US 301). Today, all segments are designated County Road 48 (CR 48), where they are under county maintenance. Segments in Sumter County are part of the Scenic Sumter Heritage Byway.
State Road 41 is the secret designation for U.S. Route 301 between Temple Terrace and Zephyrhills, Florida. It is known as Fort King Highway in Hillsborough County, and Fort King Road in Pasco County.
U.S. Highway 27 (US 27) in Florida is a north–south United States Numbered Highway. It runs 496.352 miles (798.801 km) from the Miami metropolitan area northwest to the Tallahassee metropolitan area. Throughout the state, US 27 has been designated the Claude Pepper Memorial Highway by the Florida Legislature. It was named after long-time Florida statesperson Claude Pepper, who served in both the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives. The stretch running from Miami to South Bay was originally designated the Thomas E. Will Memorial Highway by the Florida Legislature in 1937 when that portion was known as State Road 26 (SR 26). Thomas E. Will, the founder of Okeelanta, had worked for almost 20 years to get the state to build a road from Miami to the area south of Lake Okeechobee. For most of its length in the state, US 27 is a divided highway.
U.S. Route 98 is a major east-west thoroughfare through the U.S. state of Florida. Spanning 670.959 miles (1,079.804 km), it connects Pensacola and the Alabama/Florida state line to the west with Palm Beach and the Atlantic coast in the east. It is the longest US road in Florida, as well as the longest US road in any state east of the Mississippi River.
U.S. Route 301 in Florida runs from the Sarasota-Bradenton-Venice, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area northeast to the Greater Jacksonville Metropolitan Area. The road is a spur of U.S. Route 1, which it intersects in Callahan.
State Road 39 is a north–south state highway in eastern Pasco and Hillsborough County, Florida, United States. Between Plant City and Zephyrhills, the road is named Paul S. Buchman Highway. North of Zephyrhills, Florida the road is a secret state designation for U.S. Route 301 until the southern terminus of the concurrency with U.S. Route 98 south of Dade City, Florida.
State Road 539 is a 2.5-mile-long (4.0 km) northwest–southeast route in Lakeland. SR 539 is also known as Kathleen Road, and is one of the main routes connecting downtown Lakeland with Interstate 4 (I-4).
