Group F of the women's football tournament at the 2016 Summer Olympics was played from 3 to 9 August 2016, and included Australia, Canada, Germany and Zimbabwe. The top two teams advanced to the knockout stage, while the third-placed team Australia also advanced because they were among the two best third-placed teams among all three groups. [1]

The knockout stage of the women's football tournament at the 2016 Summer Olympics was played from 12 to 19 August 2016. The top two teams from each group in the group stage and the two best third-placed teams qualified for the knockout stage.

The 2016–17 season was the 107th season of competitive football in Germany.

Algeria have appeared in the finals of the Summer Olympics Football Tournament on two occasions in 1980 with the Algeria first team and in 2016 with Algeria U23 after opening olympic football tournament to U23 national teams since 1992. They have once qualified for the knockout rounds, reaching the quarter-finals in 1980 before losing to Yugoslavia.

The 2022 Campeonato Brasileiro Feminino A-1 was the 10th season of the Campeonato Brasileiro de Futebol Feminino Série A1, the top level of women's football in Brazil, and the 6th edition in a Série A1 since its establishment in 2016. The tournament was organized by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF). It started on 4 March and ended on 24 September 2022.
