Fordham University is a private Jesuit research university in New York City. Established in 1841 and named after the Fordham neighborhood of the Bronx in which its original campus is located, Fordham is the oldest Catholic and Jesuit university in the northeastern United States and the third-oldest university in New York State.
William Michael Treanor is an attorney and legal scholar. The Fordham Journal of Corporate & Financial Law name was adopted to reflect this change. The Journal further began publishing at least three times a year at this time. In 2006, the Journal was the most cited specialty journal in banking and finance and has been cited by the Supreme Court of the United States.
