"Forever Yours (Tim’s 2016 Ibiza Version)" on YouTube |
"Forever Yours (Tim's 2016 Ibiza Version)" is a song by Swedish DJ and producer Avicii, featuring vocals by Swedish singer Sandro Cavazza. The single was released posthumously on February 14, 2025, through Pinguettes Recordings and Universal Music Sweden. Another version of the song had previously been released in 2020 with additional production by Norwegian DJ Kygo. [1] This version was produced by Avicii in 2016, and was played at his final live shows in 2016. After the release of the documentaries Avicii – I'm Tim and Avicii – My Last Show in 2025, there was a rising demand among fans for the single to be released. To accompany the single, a behind the scenes video of its production was released on Avicii's YouTube channel. [2] The song features an interpolation of "Shape Of My Heart" by Sting, who is credited as a songwriter.
"Forever Yours" was first presented to Avicii in 2016 as a demo from Cavazza and Wessel. After taking a liking to it, Avicii began to work on expanding the demo into a full track. During his "Crowning Of Prince Liam" Tour, Avicii worked on the song in Monument Valley, [3] before performing the first version at Ultra Music Festival. [4] During his 2016 tour, he produced a new version, which he primarily played at his Ibiza residencies. This new version was not released for almost 9 years, until it was featured in the Netflix documentary "Avicii - My Last Show". [2] Afterwards, Avicii re-entered the charts for the first time since his death. [5] Seeing the demand for new releases rising, Pophouse Entertainment and the Tim Bergling Estate then officially released the song on February 14, 2025.
