Forney was a private tin & wood grain elevator erected in 1901 by Aaron H. Forney on his farm in southeastern Penn Township, along the railroad passing through his property. It was taken down in the 1980s. Because there was an elevator, people assumed for many years that there was a former town at the site, but this is incorrect. The closest thing to a settlement or community in the region was a mile north of the Forney elevator, where in the early 1870s Alfred N. Fritchey tried to establish the townsite of Fritchey City, but failed in the attempt.

She secretly moves into the store, where she eventually gives birth to her baby, which attracts media attention. With the help of friends, she makes a new life for herself in the town.

John Alden Fritchey IV is a former Democratic Cook County Commissioner of the Cook County Board of Commissioners who represented the 12th district in Chicago from 2010 until 2018 and was a Democratic State Representative in the Illinois House of Representatives, representing the 11th District in Chicago from 1997 to 2010. He additionally served as the elected Democratic Committeeman for Chicago's 32nd Ward from 2008-2012. According to the Arab-American Institute, Fritchey was one of the longest-serving Arab-American officials in the United States. He is presently President of F4 Consulting, Ltd. In 1998, he created the John Fritchey Youth Foundation, designed to create educational and recreational opportunities for local children through the sponsorship of academic and sports programs. He has additionally supported the Chicago Special Olympics as a repeated participant in the annual Polar Plunge. He presently serves on the Board of Directors of Chicago Gateway Green, a non-profit, public-private partnership dedicated to the greening and beautification of Chicago’s expressways, gateways and neighborhoods through landscape enhancement, litter and graffiti removal and the installation of public art.

North Forney High School (NFHS) is a public high school located in Forney, Texas, and is one of two high schools in the Forney Independent School District located in north-central Kaufman County. It is classified as a 5A school by the UIL. Varsity competition began during the 2010–11 school year, and North Forney had its first graduation in 2012. In 2013, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). In 2014, North Forney High School was recognized as having a certified Project Lead the Way high-school engineering program.

He was born in Berlin, Germany and graduated from Union College in Schenectady, New York in the United States in 1951. Nickel married Phyllis Fritchey, daughter of Clayton Fritchey, and had one son, Clayton A. Nickel. He then received a Bachelor of Laws from the Syracuse University College of Law.

John Augustus Fritchey, M.D. was an American physician and politician, who served three terms as Mayor of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The son of a middle-class butcher, Fritchey attended Harrisburg Academy and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Endorsed by the Harrisburg Patriot during the 1887 Harrisburg Mayoral Race, he would eventually be found as responsible for missing government funds. From his first term, he established the Harrisburg Bureau of Police and ambulance services, but was reported as extorting speakeasies, gambling houses and brothels for police protection. Fritchey was also notable for providing illegal abortions, and women from out of town would ride the train into Harrisburg to receive the procedures in secrecy. When Mira Lloyd Dock presented her ideas for the City Beautiful movement, he showed tepid support, leading J. Horace McFarland to refer to him as "the unspeakable Fritchey." Despite private feuds, Fritchey was popular amongst all classes, including the largely Republican city at the time, and won his third reelection by a large majority. Fritchey was also elected multiple times as chairman for The Dauphin County Democratic Committee and was considered well known in national and state politics.
The Beaver, Meade and Englewood Railroad (BM&E) extended from Beaver, Oklahoma to Keyes, Oklahoma in the Oklahoma Panhandle, about 105 miles. It was chartered in 1912, and abandoned in 1972.
