The Grand Budapest Hotel is a 2014 comedy-drama film written and directed by Wes Anderson. Ralph Fiennes leads a seventeen-actor ensemble cast as Monsieur Gustave H., famed concierge of a mountainside resort in the fictional country of Zubrowka. When Gustave is framed for the murder of a wealthy dowager, he and his recently befriended protégé Zero embark on a quest for fortune and a priceless Renaissance painting amid the backdrop of encroaching fascism. Anderson's American Empirical Pictures produced the film in association with Studio Babelsberg and Indian Paintbrush's Scott Rudin and Steven Rales, and Fox Searchlight Pictures handled its commercial distribution. The Grand Budapest Hotel was financed by Indian Paintbrush and a German government-funded rebate program.

The 87th Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), honored the best films of 2014 and took place on February 22, 2015, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles beginning at 5:30 p.m. PST / 8:30 p.m. EST. During the ceremony, AMPAS presented Academy Awards in 24 categories. The ceremony was televised in the United States by ABC, produced by Neil Meron and Craig Zadan and directed by Hamish Hamilton. Actor Neil Patrick Harris hosted the ceremony for the first time.

The Grand Budapest Hotel: Original Soundtrack is the accompanying soundtrack album for the identically named 2014 comedy-drama film, released on March 4, 2014 through ABKCO Records. Alexandre Desplat composed the soundtrack in his third collaboration with Wes Anderson. It is a Russian folk-influenced piece encompassing symphonic compositions and ambient drones, and features contributions from professional orchestras such as the Osipov State Russian Folk Orchestra and a 50-man orchestra of French and Russian balalaika players. His work on the soundtrack won Mr. Desplat an Oscar for Best Original Score at the 87th Academy Awards.
