The Freightliner C2 is a Type C conventional bus chassis manufactured by Daimler Truck North America, used for school bus applications. It was introduced in 2004 as the replacement for the FS-65. The C2 uses the hood, firewall, steering column, and dashboard of the Freightliner Business Class M2 medium-duty conventional.
As a bus chassis, the C2 is only used by Thomas Built Buses as the basis for the Thomas Saf-T-Liner C2. As Thomas is a subsidiary of Freightliner, there are no plans by other body manufacturers to utilize the C2 chassis. However, the standard Freightliner M2 chassis is available to the commercial and shuttle bus industry as a cutaway cab as the Freightliner B2.

The C2 comes standard with an Allison 2500 automatic transmission. Also available are Fuller 5-speed manual transmission and the Allison 3000 automatic. [4]

The Thomas Saf-T-Liner is the name of the transit-style school bus product line produced by Thomas Built Buses. Introduced in 1978, the Saf-T-Liner marked the transition to in-house chassis production by Thomas. In addition to school bus applications, variations of the Saf-T-Liner have been produced as activity buses, specialty vehicles, and commercial/transit buses. It can also be used to describe the Saf-T-Liner C2 or Saf-T-Liner FS-65, but they are not considered part of the Saf-T-Liner family.

The Blue Bird Vision is a school bus that is manufactured and marketed by Blue Bird Corporation in North America and exported worldwide. In production since 2003, the Vision became the first cowled-chassis bus built on a proprietary chassis designed and manufactured by the same company. While it is sold primarily in a school bus configuration, the Blue Bird Vision is also offered with various commercial and specialty seating and design configurations.
Off Campus College Transport, Inc., or OCCT, is Binghamton University's student driven, managed, and operated bus service for Binghamton University students, faculty, and staff.
