Major General G G Dwivedi (Sena Medal, Vishisht Seva Medal and BAR) is an Indian Army career officer (retired), academic, journalist, author, corporate trainer and social worker. He retired in 2009 from the Indian Army (Infantry). [1]
Dwivedi was born in Kolkata. His parents were Omprakash (1913–1991) [2] and Vilma Devi (1920–2005) [3] His grandfather was eminent physician Rai Sahib Dr. Dewan Chand Dwivedi (1888–1971). [4] He attended the Sainik School, Amaravathinagar and then in 1968 joined the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla. He holds an MSc in Defence Studies, dual M Phil in Defence and Strategic Studies from Madras University and a PhD in international relations from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) New Delhi. [5]
Major General Dwivedi retired as assistant chief of the Integrated Defence Staff in 2009, after 38 years of distinguished service in the army (infantry). He is a veteran of the Bangladesh War and he later commanded 16 JAT in Siachen, a brigade in the Kashmir Valley and a mountain division in the North East. He was India's Defence Attaché in China from 19 January 1997 to 19 August 1999. [1]
He contributed to the operational planning for 2010 Commonwealth Games, and was in charge of Spectator Services at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in India. [6]

Since 2013, he has been Professor in the Department of West Asian Studies, Aligarh Muslim University; where he is instrumental in establishing new Faculty of International Studies and was the Founder Chairperson Departments of Foreign Languages. [7] He is a Visiting Faculty to Foreign Services Institute Delhi, Management Development Institute Gurgaon, Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management (LBSIM) Delhi, Punjab University Chandigarh is a resource person for Foreign Services Institute Delhi, UGC HRD Centers of leading Central Universities. He was instrumental in the introduced new course- 'Art & Practice-Leadership' and 'CSR' IN LBSIM, besides facilitated starting M Phil in Strategic Studies at Punjab University.
The students' union pursued the restoration of the AMU's minority character. AMU was established for the educational development of the Muslims of India and its essential character was enshrined in the Parliamentary Act of 1920 and the AMU Amendment Act of 1981 but the Allahabad High Court has ruled that AMU is not a minority institution. In April 2016, the Indian government advised the court it would not appeal the decision. [8] [9]
In Jan 2016 Dwivedi's position was Professor and Chairperson, Faculty of International Studies and he was also appointed Coordinator of the Academic Programmes to be introduced in the Department of Strategic and Security Studies. [10]
Dwivedi has written on military history, geostrategy, international relations and leadership in professional journals and national dailies. Additionally, he has contributed over fifty shorts pieces in the leading natural dailies, based on his personal experience. [5]

Sir Syed Ahmad KhanKCSI was an Indian Muslim reformer, philosopher, and educationist in nineteenth-century British India. Though initially espousing Hindu–Muslim unity, he became the pioneer of Muslim nationalism in India and is widely credited as the father of the two-nation theory, which formed the basis of the Pakistan movement. Born into a family with strong debts to the Mughal court, Ahmad studied science and the Quran within the court. He was awarded an honorary LLD from the University of Edinburgh in 1889.
Hakim Syed Zillur Rahman is an Indian scholar of Unani medicine. He founded Ibn Sina Academy of Medieval Medicine and Sciences in 2000. He had earlier served as Professor and chairman, Department of Ilmul Advia at the Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, for over 40 years before retiring as Dean Faculty of Unani Medicine. Presently, he is serving AMU as "Honorary Treasurer". In 2006, the Government of India awarded him the Padma Shri for his contribution to Unani Medicine.

Hamidullah Khan was the last ruling Nawab of the princely salute state of Bhopal. He ruled from 1926 when his mother, Begum Kaikhusrau Jahan Begum, abdicated in his favor, until 1949 and held the honorific title until his death in 1960. A delegate to the Round Table Conference in London, he served as Chancellor of the Chamber of Princes from 1944–1947, when India became independent.

AMU Malappuram Centre is one of the prominent educational institution of Aligarh Muslim University in south India in the state of Kerala in Malappuram district near Perinthalmanna at Cherukara post. It was established in 2010 by the ministry of Human resource and Development, central government of India. The President of India in her capacity as the Visitor accorded sanction to establish two Centers of Aligarh Muslim University, one at Malappuram and the other at Murshidabad in 2010.

The Aligarh Movement was the push to establish a modern system of Western–style scientific education for the Muslim population of British India, during the later decades of the 19th century. Her literary contributions include more than 30 books in Urdu and English related to social, psychological, and philosophical aspects, and the translation of the literary works of Chekhov, Pirandello, Beckett, Sartre, and Ionesco. The Law Society is a body of students from Aligarh Muslim University's faculty of law. The body has produced lawyers, judges and politicians. It is an educational and representative body with an estimated 1000 active members. It is involved in training and preparing students for various competitive activities like Moot Court, Legal debate, Quiz, Judgment writing etc. of the Faculty. It was founded in 1894 as a non-profit student organization. It has long traditional character which always uplifts the students' participation and performance in relation to legal affairs in different arena. The Dean, Faculty of Law, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh is the President of the Society.
Mohammad Mohibul Haque, or Dr. Muhibul Haque is a scholar and professor of international politics, Indian polity, minority rights and human rights at the Department of Political Science at Aligarh Muslim University. He was awarded President of India Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma Gold Medal for Excellence during his studies. He speaks English, Hindi, and Urdu languages. Haque is also a prolific writer and author of several articles, research papers, chapters in the edited books on socio-political issues of national and international importance. He has also authored a book. He has done research on the topic of The Rights of Minorities in India: The Role of the National Commission for Minorities.
Muhammad Taqi Amīni was an Indian Sunni Islamic scholar, jurist, Urdu author and the dean of Theology faculty of Aligarh Muslim University. He is known for his works on Islamic jurisprudence, and his book Fiqh Islami ka Tareekhi Pas-e-Manzar is a required reading for master's degree in Islamic studies at the Islamic University of Science & Technology.
Asloob Ahmad Ansari was an Indian writer, critic, former professor of English department of Aligarh Muslim University and editor of Naqd-o-Nazar, Urdu magazine. He wrote in English and Urdu throughout his literary career. His work revolves around study of English and Urdu and research on Muhammad Iqbal, Ghalib and Sir Syed Ahmad Khan. He also wrote about William Blake and William Shakespeare.
