G22 is a three-member Filipino girl group formed in 2022 by Cornerstone Entertainment. The group is composed of AJ, Alfea, and Jaz. [1]

History

2022–2023: Formation and Domestic Success

In February 2022, Cornerstone Entertainment launched a Pinoy pop girl group originally composed of four members, AJ Yape, Alfea Zulueta, Bianca Forro, and Jaz Henry, The group name G22 which was derived from Glock 22, a semi-automatic pistol in which connected with the debut single, Bang!. [1] In April 2022, The group has made their first live performance at the inaugural PPOPCON at Araneta Coliseum as an opening act performer. [2] In December 2022, the group released a single Takin' Over as an official theme song of Mutya ng Pilipinas 2022. [3]

In September 2023, Cornerstone announced that Bianca will be leaving the group due to personal and family reasons. [4]

Also in the same month, G22 released a rendition of musical artist Dionela's Musika as a trio after departure of Bianca. [5]

In November 2023, G22 released a single Loka as an official theme song of a horror film Shake, Rattle & Roll Extreme . [6]

2024–present: international success

In April 2024, G22 guested the Chinese reality show Show It All hosted by Lay Zhang of Exo, showcasing performances of "Babalik" and "Boomerang" alongside fellow P-pop girl group Bini. [7]

Kaori Oinuma is a Filipino-Japanese actress and model known for being a finalist in Philippine reality television series, Pinoy Big Brother: Otso. She is best known for her role as Michiko in the iWantTFC original series, He's Into Her (2021). She is also a part of the first batch of stars under Rise Artists Studio, a talent management arm of ABS-CBN Films.

BGYO is a five-member Filipino boy band formed in 2018 by ABS-CBN Star Hunt Academy. The group debuted in 2021 under ABS-CBN's talent management arm, Star Magic. Dubbed as the Aces of P-pop, composed of Akira, Gelo, JL, Mikki, and Nate, the quintet co-writes several of their output and considers their Filipino roots as one of their assets, as evident in their music, songwriting and style. The Pinoy Pop Convention and Concert (PPOPCON) is a music fan convention and concert intended to celebrate Pinoy pop music and culture annually. With its first edition held on April 9 and 10, 2022, it is the first and biggest event of its kind in the Philippines.

"When I'm with You" is a song recorded by the Filipino boy band BGYO. It was released on 7 October 2021 as a key track and the third single of their debut album The Light. It was written and composed by Kidwolf. The song has been selected to be part of Spotify's "Radar Philippines", since March 2022. The track peaked at number 1 on Deezer Charts 100 in Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates.

Press Hit Play is a Filipino boy band, consisting of CHRLS, Yuuki, JP, and Sev. They were formerly named Power House Philippines but with a mononym of PHP. The group was originally formed in 2018 but disbanded, then reformed three years later in 2021.

1st.One is a Filipino boy band formed and trained by management company FirstOne Entertainment, consisting Ace, Max, Alpha, J, Joker, and Jayson. The group debuted on July 31, 2020 with their single "You Are the One ".

"Magnet" is a song recorded by Filipino boy band BGYO, released on 20 October 2022 as the lead single of their second album BE:US. It was written and composed by John Michael Conchada and Julius James "Jumbo" De Belen of FlipMusic Productions, who has also worked with the group's Tumitigil Ang Mundo. The track charted on iTunes Singles Chart in United Arab Emirates and Hong Kong; and peaked at number 1 in 3 countries—Philippines, Singapore and Saudi Arabia.
