GD Goenka University (NAAC A+) is a private university located in Sohna, Gurugram, Haryana, India. It was established in 2013 by the GD Goenka Group [1] through the Haryana Private Universities (Amendment) Act, 2013. The GD Goenka Group was founded by Shri A.K. Goenka. GD Goenka University is approved by University Grants Commission (UGC).
History
GD Goenka University (NAAC A+) was founded in 2013 as part of the GD Goenka Group’s vision for higher education in India. The GD Goenka Group itself is a long-standing educational organization started by Shri A.K. Goenka, with a legacy in K‑12 and pre‑school education spanning decades. The university was established to provide career‑focused and research‑oriented education, emphasizing innovation, industry integration, and global outlook.
Campus
The university campus is situated within the GD Goenka Education City in the foothills of the Aravalli Range along Sohna‑Gurugram Road, approximately 29–31 km from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. The campus spans around 60 acres and features modern academic blocks, research facilities, residential complexes, sports and cultural zones, libraries, and high‑tech laboratories to support teaching and learning.
The university operates multiple schools and has a diverse student body, including students from various countries around the world. It holds recognition from regulatory bodies such as the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Bar Council of India (BCI).

As part of the teaching practices, students are encouraged to document and present their work to experts. All the schools regularly conduct conferences and seminars where speakers, practicing managers and faculty researchers participate. Some of the events are REDSET, ELIXIR, ICON, ICAP, Media [4] clave, Agora, Code, Ihost, Mootcourt, Speed, ERA, and Udyami Bazaar.
The university organizes several events and other extra-curricular activities. Acceleron, Sportopia, Reva, Transcend, Research Conclave are some of the available activities.
