About

It was established in 2008 by Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences Rohtak Act, 2008 of the Government of Haryana, amended in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. [1] The university incorporates Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS), as well as Postgraduate Institute of Dental Sciences, and several other colleges, [2] and affiliates medical colleges, dental colleges, physiotherapy colleges, Ayurvedic colleges, homoeopathic colleges and pharmacy colleges in Haryana. [3]

Pandit Neki Ram Sharma Government College is a degree-granting institution located in Rohtak, Haryana, India. The college is affiliated with Maharshi Dayanand University. Established in 1927, it has a long history of academic contributions. Also known as Pt. Neki Ram Sharma Government College, this institution in Rohtak offers a variety of postgraduate, undergraduate, and honors level programs to both male and female students. Initially, the college started its journey as Govt. Intermediate College in 1927 and later upgraded to a degree-granting college in 1944. In July 1980, the administrative control of the college was handed over to Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak and it was subsequently renamed as University College, Rohtak. However, the Haryana State Government regained control over the college in April 2006. Since then, it has been known as Pandit Neki Ram Sharma Government College, Rohtak. Throughout its history, the college has consistently made progress in academic, cultural, and intellectual spheres.

Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhayaya University of Health Sciences, Karnal is a university specialised in health sciences in Karnal, Haryana, India. It was established by Haryana Act No. 27 of 2016 and named University of Health Sciences, Karnal which was changed into Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhayaya University of Health Sciences, Karnal by an amendment act passed in 2018.

The college is attached to a 1150-bedded multi-speciality hospital which was built in 2013 but became operational in 2014. The campus is spread in over 30 acres and provide primary and tertiary healthcare facilities to the workers insured under the ESI corporation and is one of the tertiary care referral center for smaller ESI clinic and dispensaries.

Devender Paul Vats is an Indian politician and a retired Lt. General of the Indian Army and former chief of the Haryana Public Service Commission. He is a noted ophthalmologist and was Advisor General & CEO at Maharaja Agrasen Medical College, Agroha, Hisar (city).
