Gabriel Gadison Ajedra Aridru is a Ugandan civil engineer and politician. He was the State Minister of Finance for General Duties in the Cabinet of Uganda, from 6 June 2016 until 3 May 2021. [1] Prior to that, from 12 August 2012, until 6 June 2016, he served as the State Minister of Finance for Investments. [2] In the cabinet reshuffle of 24 May 2013, [3] and that of 1 March 2015, [4] he retained his cabinet post. He also served as the elected member of parliament for Arua Municipality, Arua District, until May 2021. [5]

Background and education

He was born in Arua District on 30 August 1962. He studied at Makerere University, graduating in 1989 with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He pursued further studies in Canada, obtaining the degree of Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of New Brunswick in 1992. In 1997, he was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering. [5]

Career

Following his postgraduate studies in Canada, he was appointed Lecturer in Civil Engineering at the University of Botswana. He later taught, as a lecturer in Civil Engineering at the Development University of Bahamas. Then he returned to Uganda and worked as an engineer for the National Water and Sewerage Corporation. For a period of time, he served as the Chief Project Coordinator and Advisor on Infrastructure for the Government of Botswana. [5] In 2011, he successfully contested for the parliamentary seat of Arua Municipality, on the National Resistance Movement political party ticket. In August 2012, he was appointed State Minister of Finance, responsible for Investments. [2] On 6 June 2016, he was named as State Minister for Investments. [6]

Dr. Aridru was previously married to Josephine Aridru from Arua. He is a follower of the Anglican faith. He is now married to Elizabeth Kamuhanda of Kabale.

Syda Namirembe Bbumba is a Ugandan accountant, politician and banker. Ephraim Kamuntu is a Ugandan management scientist and politician. He is the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs in the Cabinet of Uganda. He was appointed to that position on 14 December 2019. Previously he served as Minister of Water and Environment from August 2012 to June 2016. He is also an ex-officio Member of the Parliament of Uganda because of his Cabinet position.

John Byabagambi is a Ugandan engineer and politician. He was the Cabinet Minister for Karamoja Affairs, in the Cabinet of Uganda. He was appointed to that position on 6 June 2016, and was replaced by Mary Goretti Kitutu on 8 June 2021. He previously served as Minister of Works and Transport between March 2015 and June 2016, replacing Abraham Byandala who was appointed Minister Without Portfolio. He is also the elected Member of Parliament, representing Ibanda County South, Ibanda District. He was first elected to that position in 2001.

Matia Kasaija is a Ugandan politician. He is the current Minister of Finance in Uganda's Cabinet. He was appointed to that position on 1 March 2015, replacing Maria Kiwanuka, who was appointed to Senior Presidential Advisor for Finance. From 27 May 2011 until 28 February 2015, he served as the State Minister for Finance (Planning) in the Cabinet of Uganda. He replaced Ephraim Kamuntu, who was promoted to Minister of Tourism. Before that, he served as the State Minister for Internal Affairs, from 1 June 2006 until May 2011. He is also the elected Member of Parliament for "Buyanja County", Kibaale District.

Sandy Stevens Tickodri-Togboa is a scientist, engineer, academic, and politician in Uganda. From 2015 to 2016, he served as the State Minister for Higher Education and Technology in the Cabinet of Uganda. He was appointed to that position on 1 March 2015, replacing John Chrysostom Muyingo; in the reshuffle of June 2016, however, he was not reappointed. As a cabinet minister, he was also an ex officio member of parliament. Before his ministerial appointment, he was a deputy vice chancellor at Makerere University, the oldest and largest of the eight public universities in Uganda.

Irene Nafuna Muloni is a Ugandan electrical engineer, businesswoman and politician and also a Senior Presidential Advisor to Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. She retained her position in the new cabinet after the 2016 national elections. She was appointed to that position on 1 March 2015, replacing Ronald Kibuule, who was appointed State Minister for Water Resources. She also served as the elected Member of Parliament for Koboko Municipality, in the West Nile sub-region, in the Northern Region of Uganda, a position she occupied from 2011 until 2021. In the 2020 National Resistance Movement (NRM) primary elections, Anite lost to Dr Charles Ayume, the son of former speaker of the Ugandan Parliament, the late Francis Ayume.

Vincent Bamulangaki Ssempijja is a politician, in Uganda. He has served as the Minister of Defence since June 2021. He previously served as the Cabinet Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries from 2016 to 2021. He previously served as State Minister for Agriculture, between 1 March 2015 and 6 June 2016. He also serves as the elected Member of Parliament, representing "Kalungu County East", in Kalungu District.

Monica Azuba Ntege is a Ugandan engineer and politician. She was the Minister of Works and Transport in the Ugandan Cabinet. She was appointed to that position on 6 June 2016 replacing John Byabagambi, who became Minister for Karamoja. She was replaced by Katumba Wamala in the cabinet on 14 December 2019.

Betty Amongi Akena,, but commonly known as Betty Amongi, is a Ugandan politician. She is the Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development in the Cabinet of Uganda, as of 9 June 2021. Previously, she served as the Cabinet Minister of Kampala Capital City and before that, from 6 June 2016 until 14 December 2019, she served as the Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development in Uganda's cabinet. She is also the incumbent member of parliament representing the Oyam South Constituency in the 11th Parliament.

Dennis Galabuzi Ssozi also Dennis Galabuzi Ssozi, is a Ugandan civil engineer, politician and businessman. He is the State Minister for Luweero Triangle in the Ugandan Cabinet. He was appointed to that position on 6 June 2016, replacing Sarah Kataike, who was dropped from cabinet. Galabuzi Ssozi also serves as the elected member of parliament, representing Busiro North Constituency, in Wakiso District, in the 10th Parliament of Uganda (2016–2021).

Mary Goretti Kitutu, also Mary Goretti Kitutu Kimono is a Ugandan academic, politician and environmentalist. She was appointed Minister for Karamoja Affairs on 8 June 2021, replacing John Byabagambi. She was the Minister of Energy and Mineral Development, in the Ugandan Cabinet, from 14 December 2019 to 8 June 2021. Before that, from 10 June 2016, until 14 December 2019, she served as the State Minister for the Environment in the Cabinet of Uganda. Dr Mary Kitutu concurrently serves as the elected Manafwa District Women's Representative, in the 10th Parliament.

Kania Mario Obiga is a Ugandan politician. He is the State Minister for Internal Affairs in the Ugandan Cabinet. He was appointed to that position of 6 June 2016. He concurrently serves as the elected representative of Terego County East, Arua District, in the 10th Parliament of Uganda (2016–2021).

Charles Okello Macodwogo Engola,, commonly known as Charles Okello -Engola, is a Ugandan politician and retired Colonel in the Uganda People's Defence Force. He is the current State Minister for Defence in the Ugandan Cabinet. He was born to Chief (Jago) Nasan Engola and Ketula Engola of Awangi, in Iceme, Oyam district. Charles Okello-Engola is also the grandson of Rwot Olong Adilo, and also great grandson of Rwot Olwa Abelli of Iceme. He was appointed to the position of minister of state for defense on 6 June 2016, replacing General Jeje Odongo, who was appointed Cabinet Minister of Internal Affairs. He concurrently serves as the Member of Parliament representing Oyam North County in the 10th Parliament.

Molly Nawe Kamukama, commonly known as Molly Kamukama, is a Ugandan politician and management professional, who served as the State Minister for Economic Monitoring in the Office of the President, in the Cabinet of Uganda from 14 December 2019 to June 2021 when she was replaced by Peter Ogwang.
