Gabriel M. Rebeiz is a Lebanese-American electrical and computer engineer, currently the Wireless Communications Industry Chair Chair and Professor at University of California, San Diego. He is the first to introduce MEMS and micromachining to the RF/microwave field by developing several novel components with this technology. He is also the pioneer of the integrated phased arrays for communication and defense systems. He was elected a member of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) in 2016 for contributions to radio frequency microelectromechanical systems (RF MEMS) and phased array technologies. A radio-frequency microelectromechanical system is a microelectromechanical system with electronic components comprising moving sub-millimeter-sized parts that provide radio-frequency (RF) functionality. RF functionality can be implemented using a variety of RF technologies. Besides RF MEMS technology, III-V compound semiconductor, ferrite, ferroelectric, silicon-based semiconductor, and vacuum tube technology are available to the RF designer. Microelectromechanical system oscillators are devices that generate highly stable reference frequencies to measure time. The core technologies used in MEMS oscillators have been in development since the mid-1960s, but have only been sufficiently advanced for commercial applications since 2006. MEMS oscillators incorporate MEMS resonators, which are microelectromechanical structures that define stable frequencies. MEMS clock generators are MEMS timing devices with multiple outputs for systems that need more than a single reference frequency. MEMS oscillators are a valid alternative to older, more established quartz crystal oscillators, offering better resilience against vibration and mechanical shock, and reliability with respect to temperature variation.

Reza Ghodssi is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Institute for Systems Research (ISR) at the University of Maryland, College Park, where he directs the MEMS Sensors and Actuators Lab and holds the Herbert Rabin Distinguished Chair in Engineering. Ghodssi is also the Inaugural Executive Director of Research and Innovation for the A. James Clark School of Engineering at the University System of Maryland at Southern Maryland (USMSM). He is best known for his work designing micro- and nano-devices for healthcare applications, particularly for systems requiring small-scale energy conversion and biological and chemical sensing.
Stepan Lucyszyn FIEEE is a British engineer, inventor and technologist, and has been a Professor of Millimetre-wave Systems at Imperial College London, England, since 2016. He was named a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in 2014. Lucyszyn's research has mainly focused on monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICs), radio frequency microelectromechnical systems, wireless power transfer (WPT), thermal infrared technologies and additive manufacturing.
Jianjun "Jan" Shi is a Chinese-born American engineer and the Carolyn J. Stewart Chair and Professor in the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering. He also works at the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He was elected as a member into the National Academy of Engineering in 2018 for the "development of data fusion-based quality methods and their implementation in multistage manufacturing systems".
Mahta Moghaddam is an Iranian-American electrical and computer engineer and William M. Hogue Professor of Electrical Engineering in the Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Southern California Viterbi School of Engineering. Moghaddam is also the president of the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society and is known for developing sensor systems and algorithms for high-resolution characterization of the environment to quantify the effects of climate change. She also has developed innovative tools using microwave technology to visualize biological structures and target them in real-time with high-power focused microwave ablation.
Dimitrios Peroulis is an American electrical engineer and educator. He is currently Reily Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and was named in 2019 Michael and Katherine Birck Head of Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University College of Engineering. Peroulis was elected IEEE Fellow in 2017 for his "contributions to MEMS-based tunable filters". He received, together with Andrea Alu and Mona Jarrahi, 2014 IEEE MTT-S Outstanding Young Engineer Award for "outstanding early career contributions to the microwave profession”. In 2013, Peroulis was inducted into the Purdue Book of Great Teachers which "honors outstanding teaching faculty who have demonstrated sustained excellence in the classroom". He was the recipient of a 2008 A. A. Potter Best of Engineering Teaching award and a 2010 Charles B. Murphy award, Purdue's highest undergraduate teaching honor.
