Gautham Vasudev Menon is an Indian film director, screenwriter, film producer and actor who predominantly works in Tamil film industry. He has also directed Telugu and Hindi films that were either simultaneously shot with or remakes of his own Tamil films. He has won two National Film Awards, three Nandi Awards and one Tamil Nadu State Film Award.
Pachaikili Muthucharam is a 2007 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. It is based on the 2005 British-American thriller film Derailed which was an adaptation of James Siegel's 2003 novel Derailed. The film stars R. Sarathkumar as the protagonist and Jyothika as the antagonist, while Andrea Jeremiah and Milind Soman played important supporting roles. The film's score and soundtrack were composed by Harris Jayaraj. The soundtrack was released on 20 January 2007 to positive reviews. The film was released on 13 February 2007. It was dubbed in Telugu as Drohi and was remade in Sinhala as Dakina Dakina Mal in 2010.
Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, also known by the initialism RHTDM, is a 2001 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film written and directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, starring R. Madhavan, Saif Ali Khan and Dia Mirza in the lead roles. The film is a remake of the director's own Tamil film Minnale, which also starred Madhavan in his reprised role. This is Dia Mirza's debut film as well as Tamil actor, Madhavan's official Bollywood debut film after having an uncredited appearance in the song "Chup Tum Raho" in Is Raat Ki Subah Nahi.
Padmadalakshan, better known by his stage name Kuthiravattam Pappu, was a popular Indian stage and film actor. His repertoire of acting was based on his unique style and use of the Kozhikodan dialect, impeccable timing and the capability to grasp the subtle nuances of any character and mould it into his signature "Pappu style". Menon by Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu (2006), Pachaikili Muthucharam (2007), Vaaranam Aayiram (2008), Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa (2010), Neethaane En Ponvasantham (2012), Yennai Arindhaal (2015), Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada (2016) and Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu (2022). Following the success of these films, director Shankar has collaborated with him through Enthiran (2010). He has worked in over two-hundred Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada films. He is the editor for India's most expensive feature film 2.0 (2018).
Nadunisi Naaygal is a 2011 Tamil-language experimental psychological thriller film written and directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon that stars Veera, Sameera Reddy and Deva, with Swapna Abraham and Ashwin in other pivotal roles. The film notably has no score, instead featuring sounds designed by Renganaath Ravee. Produced by Photon Kathaas Productions and R. S. Infotainment, Nadunissi Naaygal released on 18 February 2011, simultaneously dubbed and released in Telugu as Erra Gulabilu. The title Nadunisi Naaygal is taken from the title of a poem of Sundara Ramasamy.
Orkkappurathu (transl. Offhand) is a 1988 Indian Malayalam-language comedy drama film directed by Kamal and written by Shibu Chakravarthy from a story by Ranjith. It is produced by Mohanlal and Century Kochumon, starring Mohanlal, Nedumudi Venu, N. L. Balakrishnan, Ramya Krishnan, Thilakan and K. P. Ummer in the lead roles. The film score was composed by Ouseppachan, the film does not contain any songs other than the Irish ballad "Danny Boy". The film set in an Anglo-Indian background was filmed entirely in and around Fort Kochi, Kerala, India. Orkkappurathu released on 13 April 1988 was a commercial success. This movie ran more than 150 days. The film has grossed around 1.5 crore.

The album, particularly the song "Mallipoo", received positive response from music critics.
