The George Washington Revolutionaries softball team represents George Washington University in the NCAA Division I college softball. The team participates in the Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10). The Revolutionaries are currently led by head coach Chrissy Schoonmaker. The team plays its home games at Mount Vernon Softball Field, which is located on the university's campus. [2]

History

The Revolutionaries have achieved some success since the 2021 season, winning the Atlantic 10 Conference regular season championship in 2021 and in 2022. The program won the Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament in 2021 after defeating Dayton in two games. [3] [4] By winning the tournament, George Washington qualified for the first NCAA Division I softball tournament in program history and were placed in the Baton Rouge Super Regional. The Revolutionaries were defeated by Louisiana in their first game, losing 1-0 in extra innings. [5] [6] They were eliminated from the tournament by McNeese State, losing via the mercy rule in five innings. [7] [8]

Danielle Henderson is an American, former collegiate All-American, medal-winning Olympian, retired professional All-Star softball pitcher who is currently the head coach at UMass. Henderson was a starting pitcher for the UMass Minutewomen softball from 1996 to 1999. Henderson also played professionally in National Pro Fastpitch from 2004 to 2007, where she currently ranks top-10 in career strikeout ratio (6.8). Along with numerous school records, she is the Atlantic 10 Conference career leader in ERA, shutouts, perfect games (3) and WHIP. Henderson represented the United States at the 2000 Summer Olympics and won a gold medal.

The 2019 NCAA Division I Softball season, play of college softball in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level, began February 7, 2019. The season will progress through the regular season, many conference tournaments and championship series, and will conclude with the 2019 NCAA Division I softball tournament and 2019 Women's College World Series. The Women's College World Series, consisting of the eight remaining teams in the NCAA Tournament will be held annually in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium, will end in June 2019.

The 2019–20 Atlantic 10 Conference men's basketball season was the 44th season of Atlantic 10 Conference basketball. The season began with practices in October 2019, followed by the start of the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season in November. League play began in early January and ended in early March.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2020–21 VCU Rams men's basketball team</span> American college basketball season

The 2020–21 VCU Rams men's basketball team represented Virginia Commonwealth University during the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Their head coach was Mike Rhoades, in his fourth year as VCU head coach. The team played their home games at the Siegel Center in Richmond, Virginia, as a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference. In a season limited due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, they finished the season 19–7, 10–4 in A-10 play to finish in second place. The Rams defeated Dayton and Davidson in the A-10 tournament before losing to St. Bonaventure in the championship. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament as the No. 10 seed in the West region. Their game against Oregon in the first round was ruled a no-contest due to positive COVID-19 tests in the VCU program, thus ending their season and making VCU the first team ever to forfeit a game in the NCAA tournament.

The 2020 Atlantic 10 Conference men's soccer season is the 34th season of men's college soccer in the Atlantic 10 Conference. The season was scheduled to begin on August 29, 2020 and conclude on November 6, 2020, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The season is scheduled to begin on February 3, 2021 and conclude on April 11, 2021.

The 2022 Davidson Wildcats baseball team represented Davidson College during the 2022 NCAA Division I baseball season. It was the program's 121st baseball season, and their 7th season the Atlantic 10 Conference. The regular season began on February 18 and concluded on May 21, 2022.
