Georgian Peaks is a private alpine ski resort located on the Niagara Escarpment just outside Thornbury, Ontario. It has the highest vertical drop of any resort in Ontario, at 820 feet (250 m), [1] enough to allow it to host official FIS-standard slalom and giant slalom races. The hill focuses on more challenging terrain than nearby hills like Blue Mountain, featuring twenty-two named runs served by four chairlifts.[ citation needed ]
The club took a direct hit from an F2 tornado during the Central Ontario and GTA Tornado Outbreak, August 20, 2009. The damage was substantial, but the club was fully repaired and operational for opening day.

Built on Mount Tecumseh, with a summit elevation of 3,997 feet (1,218 m) above sea level, the ski trails extend to a high point on the south ridge of the mountain at 3,840 feet (1,170 m), offering a vertical drop of 2,020 feet (615 m). Between 1961 and 1967, a series of annual giant slalom ski races were held in Canada. The races had a large prize pool and attracted the best skiers from around the world. Over 4000 spectators attended the races and the event and results were reported in most newspapers between London ON and Montreal QC at the time. The races were sponsored by the St. Lawrence Starch Company. The St. Lawrence Starch Company was the manufacture of "Bee Hive Corn Syrup".

Craigleith Ski Club is a private alpine ski resort in Ontario, Canada, near Collingwood. It features 5 ski lifts, 1 Surface lift, 33 trails and a terrain park with an air bag. There are 3 base lodges and a rental building at the bottom of the hill. The lodges offer services such as lockers, restrooms, food services and first aid. Known as 'The Race Factory', Craigleith has an alpine ski racing program starting at U8 through U21 that has the largest participation in Canada. Craigleith also has park teams that compete against other private clubs in the area. In February 2017 Craigleith hosted the Canadian Snowshoe Championships on its famous 'Switchback' trails.
