The 2013 Glastonbury Festival (Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts) was held from 28 to 30 June 2013. It followed a fallow year, in which there was no festival. [1] [2]
On 20 June 2012 it was announced that tickets for the 2013 festival would go on sale at 9 am on Sunday 7 October 2012. [3] All 135,000 tickets were sold in a record 1 hour and 40 minutes. [4] [5]
The Arctic Monkeys headlined on the Pyramid stage on the Friday night. [6] The Rolling Stones made their Glastonbury debut, headlining on the Saturday. [7] [8] The band played twenty songs during their two-hour set, [9] with the second hour broadcast by BBC Two. [10] The Rolling Stones performance had a peak audience of 2.6 million on BBC 2. [11] Mumford & Sons closed the festival with their first ever headline set on the Pyramid stage. [12]

On 17 January 2013 it was announced that on each day, in an act of solidarity, musicians from Mali would open the Pyramid Stage. [14] Islamists have banned music in the North of the North African nation. The first musician announced to open the Pyramid Stage was Rokia Traoré. [14]
Rodriguez, the Detroit pop star at the center of the Oscar-nominated documentary Searching for Sugar Man , will perform at Glastonbury Festival [15]
The London-based indie group The Vaccines announced on their Facebook page that they would be playing the Pyramid Stage on the Friday. The lineup was announced on 27 March at 7pm on the Glastonbury website and on the Zane Lowe radio show on BBC Radio 1. [16] [17]
Beady Eye opened the festival with a surprise unadvertised performance on Friday at 11 am.[ citation needed ]

Glastonbury Festival is a five-day festival of contemporary performing arts held near Pilton, Somerset, England in most summers. In addition to contemporary music, the festival hosts dance, comedy, theatre, circus, cabaret, and other arts. Leading pop and rock artists have headlined, alongside thousands of others appearing on smaller stages and performance areas. Films and albums have been recorded at the festival, and it receives extensive television and newspaper coverage.
The Reading and Leeds Festivals are a pair of annual music festivals that take place in Reading and Leeds in England. The events take place simultaneously on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the August bank holiday weekend. The Reading Festival is held at Little John's Farm on Richfield Avenue in central Reading, near Caversham Bridge. The Leeds event is held in Bramham Park, near Wetherby, the grounds of a historic house. Headliners and most supporting acts typically play at both sites, with Reading's Friday line up becoming Leeds' Saturday line-up, Reading's Saturday line-up playing at Leeds on Sunday, and Leeds' Friday line-up attending Reading on Sunday. Campsites are available at both sites and weekend tickets include camping. Day tickets are also sold.
Oxegen was a music festival in Ireland, first held from 2004–2011 as a rock and pop festival and again in 2013 with dance and chart acts only. The event was regularly cited as Ireland's biggest music festival, and, by 2009, it was being cited as the greenest festival, being a 100% carbon neutral event in Ireland, although this claim is highly disputed as green-washing. It was previously called Witnness, which ran from 2000 and was sponsored by Guinness. The event was promoted by MCD and was sponsored by Heineken. Oxegen was originally a three-day festival, but from 2008 onwards, it was expanded to four days.
T in the Park festival was a major Scottish music festival that was held annually from 1994 to 2016. It was named after its main sponsor, Tennents. The event was held at Strathclyde Park, Lanarkshire, until 1996. It then moved to the disused Balado airfield, Perth and Kinross, from 1997 to 2014. In 2015 the festival moved to Strathallan Castle. It was originally held over two days, and extended to three days from 2007. In 2016 the daily capacity was 70,000.

Courteeners are an English band formed in Middleton, Greater Manchester, in 2006 by Liam Fray, Michael Campbell, Daniel "Conan" Moores and Mark Cuppello (bass); the last was replaced by the band's producer Joe Cross in 2015. They previously toured with pianist Adam Payne, who has been featured on every album, but in 2019 was replaced with Elina Lin. In December 2012, the band dropped "The" from their name, continuing simply as "Courteeners".

Spector are a British indie rock band from London, composed of Frederick Macpherson, Jed Cullen (guitar), Nicolas Py (drums) and Danny Blandy. They’ve released three albums and one compilation. The band's debut album Enjoy It While It Lasts reached number 12 in the UK Albums Chart and went to number one on the Official Record Store Chart on the week of its release.
Jake Bugg is an English singer-songwriter. His self-titled debut album, Jake Bugg, some of which was co-written with songwriter Iain Archer, was released in October 2012 and reached number one on the UK Albums Chart. His second album, Shangri La, was released in November 2013 and his third, largely self-produced album On My One, in June 2016. His fourth album Hearts That Strain, a largely acoustic effort, produced by Dan Auerbach, was released in September 2017. After a gap of four years, in August 2021, Bugg released the more pop-influenced fifth album Saturday Night, Sunday Morning.
Adam Smith is an English film, television drama, documentary, and music video director. His filmmaking journey began as a teenager, making visuals for raves and nightclubs in a creative collective, which he co founded, called Vegetable Vision.

The Blue Smoke World Tour is the eleventh concert tour by American recording artist Dolly Parton. The tour promotes Parton's 42nd studio album, Blue Smoke. Beginning in January 2014, the tour played forty-seven shows in North America, Oceania, and Europe. On Pollstar's Mid Year Top 100 Worldwide Tours list, released in July 2014 and ranking tours up until that date, the Blue Smoke World Tour ranked at number 23 with $23.3 million in grosses and 210,288 tickets sold for 38 shows.

American singer Beyoncé Knowles headlined the 2011 Glastonbury Festival alongside acts U2 and Coldplay, performing on June 26, 2011 at the Pyramid Stage in Pilton, Somerset, England. She was the first solo Black woman to headline the Pyramid Stage, and became the first solo female artist to headline the festival since Sinéad O'Connor in 1990. While her festival headline announcement was initially met with skepticism from rock and indie music purists who considered the placement "a little too pop" for the festival, Knowles' performance was immediately met with critical acclaim, heralded by The Daily Telegraph as a "sassy triumph", "career-defining" by Billboard, and by others in the media as a "masterpiece", "killer", and "90 minutes of pure Bey greatness." The performance, which acted as the festival finale, generated over 2.6 million views individually, breaking the record at the time for most television views for a single performance according to BBC.
