Glen Gulutzan (born August 12, 1971) is a Canadian ice hockey coach and former player. He is currently an assistant coach for the Edmonton Oilers.
Gulutzan played junior hockey with the Moose Jaw Warriors, Brandon Wheat Kings and Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League from 1986 to 1992. Gulutzan signed with the West Coast Hockey League's Fresno Falcons in 1996. During the 1996–97 campaign, Gulutzan saw short call ups with the Utah Grizzlies and the Las Vegas Thunder of the International Hockey League, while scoring 30 goals and 80 assists in 60 games with Fresno.
Following the 1996–97 season, Gulutzan left North America to play for Finnish team Sport in Mestis, the second-highest hockey league in Finland. Following his short 35-game stint in Finland, Gulutzan returned to Fresno in 1998. Gulutzan would spend his final five years of professional hockey play with Fresno, being named the team's player-assistant in the 2001–02 and 2002–03 seasons and winning the Bruce Taylor Cup as the WCHL playoff champions in 2002.
Gulutzan was head coach and general manager of the ECHL's Las Vegas Wranglers from 2003 to 2009, leading the team to two division championships, one Brabham Cup and an appearance in the Kelly Cup Finals. During the 2005–06 season, Gulutzan was awarded the John Brophy Trophy as the league's best coach and in 2008, [1] Gulutzan's Wranglers became the first team in the ECHL's 20-year history to have three-consecutive 100 point seasons. Gulutzan had been named the head coach of the National Conference All-Star team three-straight years, from 2006 to 2008, tying the ECHL record for most All-Star Game appearances by a coach. [2]
In 2011, Gulutzan became the front runner for the Dallas Stars' head coaching vacancy following the team's dismissal of head coach Marc Crawford at the conclusion of the 2010–11 season [3] [4] [5] and was named the head coach on June 16, 2011. [6] He was relieved of his duties on May 14, 2013. [7]
On July 24, 2013, it was announced that Gulutzan would be an assistant coach for the Vancouver Canucks. [8]
On June 17, 2016, Gulutzan was announced as the new head coach of the Calgary Flames following the dismissal of Bob Hartley. [9] On April 17, 2018, the Flames fired Gulutzan after the team missed the playoffs. [10]
On May 25, 2018, Gulutzan was announced as an assistant coach of Edmonton Oilers. [11]

The Idaho Steelheads are an American professional minor league ice hockey team based in Boise, Idaho, and a member of the ECHL. The Steelheads play in the Mountain Division of the ECHL's Western Conference since the 2016–17 season.
The Las Vegas Wranglers were a professional ice hockey team based in Las Vegas Valley. The Wranglers were members of the Pacific Division of the Western Conference of the ECHL. The Wranglers were founded as an expansion franchise in 2003 following the ECHL's takeover of the West Coast Hockey League.
The Alaska Aces, known as the Anchorage Aces until 2003, was a professional ice hockey team in Anchorage, Alaska. Home games were played at Sullivan Arena in Anchorage. The Aces won three Kelly Cup championships, with their last championship following the 2013–14 ECHL season.
The Stockton Thunder were a minor league professional ice hockey team that was based in Stockton, California, and a member of the ECHL. The Stockton Arena was their home ice, with a capacity of 9,737. The team was an affiliate team of the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League in their final two seasons. The team was purchased by the Calgary Flames and relocated to Glens Falls, New York, as the Flames relocated their American Hockey League team to Stockton to become the Stockton Heat.
The Las Vegas Thunder were a professional ice hockey team competing in the International Hockey League. The team's home rink was at the Thomas & Mack Center. They began play in the 1993–1994 season, folding on April 18, 1999. The demise of the franchise was precipitated by the refusal of UNLV officials to negotiate with team owners regarding a new agreement to continue playing at the Thomas & Mack Center after the 1998–1999 season. Without a facility that was suitable even for temporary use, the Thunder were forced to shut down.

The Allen Americans are a professional ice hockey team headquartered at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas, which currently plays in the ECHL. The team was founded in 2009 in the Central Hockey League (CHL) where they played for five seasons, winning the Ray Miron President's Cup twice. The CHL folded in 2014 and the ECHL accepted the remaining CHL teams as members for the 2014–15 season. In their first two seasons in the ECHL, Allen advanced to the Kelly Cup finals, winning the championship in both years. The ECHL Hall of Fame is an ice hockey museum dedicated to honoring members that have played in the ECHL. It was created by the league in 2008. The ECHL Board of Governors created the ECHL Hall of Fame to recognize the achievements of players, coaches, and personnel who dedicated their careers to the league. Hall of Fame members are selected in four categories: Player, Developmental Player, Builder, and Referee/Linesman. Players must have concluded their career as an active player for a minimum of three playing seasons, though not continuous or full seasons. Developmental Players must have begun their career in the ECHL and went on to a distinguished career in the NHL, playing a minimum of 260 regular season games in the NHL, AHL and ECHL. Builders may be active or inactive whereas Referee/Linesman must have concluded their active officiating career for a minimum of three playing seasons.
