Glen View South is a constituency represented in the National Assembly of the Parliament of Zimbabwe, comprising the southern portion of the Glen View suburb of Harare. It was created in 2008 from the old Glen View constituency, along with Glen View North. [1]

Its MP since the 7 September 2019 by-election was Vincent Tsvangirai of the MDC Alliance, son of the late opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai. [2] He replaced his sister, Vimbai Tsvangirai-Java, who died on 10 June 2019. [3] [4] The current MP since the 2023 general election is Grandmore Hakata of the Citizens Coalition for Change.

The prime minister of Zimbabwe was a political office in the government of Zimbabwe that existed on two occasions. The first person to hold the position was Robert Mugabe from 1980 to 1987 following independence from the United Kingdom. He took office when Southern Rhodesia gained internationally recognised independence as the Republic of Zimbabwe on 18 April 1980. This position was abolished when the constitution was amended in 1987 and Mugabe became president of Zimbabwe, replacing Canaan Banana as the head of state while also remaining the head of government. The office of prime minister was restored in 2009 and held by Morgan Tsvangirai until the position was again abolished by the 2013 Constitution of Zimbabwe.

Lovemore Moyo is a Zimbabwean politician who was Speaker of the House of Assembly of Zimbabwe from 2008 to 2013. He was the National Chairman of the Movement for Democratic Change – Tsvangirai (MDC-T) party led by Morgan Tsvangirai from 2006 to 2018.

The Movement for Democratic Change – Tsvangirai (MDC–T) is a centre-left political party and was the main opposition party in the House of Assembly of Zimbabwe ahead of the 2018 elections. After the split of the original Movement for Democratic Change in 2005, the MDC–T remained the major opposition faction, while a smaller faction, the Movement for Democratic Change – Ncube, or MDC–N, was led by Welshman Ncube.

The Movement for Democratic Change – Ncube (MDC–N) was a Zimbabwean political party led by politician and attorney Welshman Ncube. It was founded in 2005 when the Movement for Democratic Change split apart and in the 2008 general election, it was known as the Movement for Democratic Change – Mutambara (MDC–M) in contrast to the larger Movement for Democratic Change – Tsvangirai (MDC–T). The MDC–N and the MDC–T operated as separate opposition parties until their re-unification in 2018. The re-united party now operates under the original name, the MDC.

General elections were held in Zimbabwe on 31 July 2013. Incumbent President Robert Mugabe was re-elected, whilst his ZANU–PF party won a two-thirds majority in the National Assembly.

General elections were held in Zimbabwe on 29 March 2008 to elect the President and Parliament. Because of Zimbabwe's dire economic situation, the elections were expected to provide incumbent President Robert Mugabe with his toughest electoral challenge to date. Mugabe's opponents were critical of the handling of the electoral process, and the government was accused of planning to rig the election. Human Rights Watch said that the election was likely to be "deeply flawed."

Marondera Central is a constituency of the National Assembly of Zimbabwe, covering much of Marondera, Mashonaland East Province. It was created in 2008 from territory taken from Marondera East and Marondera West. Its current Member of Parliament is Caston Matewu.

Harare Central is a constituency represented in the National Assembly of the Parliament of Zimbabwe. It is located in the central area of Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe. Like all Zimbabwean constituencies, Harare Central elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first-past-the-post electoral system. The seat has been represented by MP Lovemore Jimu since the 2023 general election.

Tsholotsho South is a constituency of the National Assembly of the Parliament of Zimbabwe. Located in Tsholotsho District in Matabeleland North Province, its current MP since a 2022 by-election is Musa Ncube of ZANU–PF. The previous MP, Zenzo Sibanda, died in 2021.

Mangwe is a constituency of the National Assembly of the Parliament of Zimbabwe. Located in Matabeleland South Province, is currently represented by Hlanani Mguni of ZANU–PF since a 7 September 2019 by-election. Previously, it was represented by Obedingwa Mguni until his death on 18 June 2019.
