A nature reserve is a protected area of importance for flora, fauna, funga, or features of geological or other special interest, which is reserved and managed for purposes of conservation and to provide special opportunities for study or research. They may be designated by government institutions in some countries, or by private landowners, such as charities and research institutions. Nature reserves fall into different IUCN categories depending on the level of protection afforded by local laws. Normally it is more strictly protected than a nature park. Various jurisdictions may use other terminology, such as ecological protection area or private protected area in legislation and in official titles of the reserves.
Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife is a governmental organisation responsible for maintaining wildlife conservation areas and biodiversity in KwaZulu-Natal Province, South Africa. Their headquarters is in Queen Elizabeth Park situated on the northern slopes of Pietermaritzburg, the KwaZulu-Natal provincial capital. Prior to 1994, it was known as the Natal Parks Board.

Ingrebourne Valley is a local nature reserve (LNR) in Hornchurch in the London Borough of Havering. It is owned and managed by Havering Council, and has a visitor centre managed by the Essex Wildlife Trust. Most of it is in Hornchurch Country Park west of the River Ingrebourne, but there are also areas north and south of the park which are part of the LNR. It has a wide range of habitats, including woodland, grassland, the river and marshes. It is an important site for a range of species of plants, animals and birds, including great crested newts, slow worms, the harvest mouse and the water vole.

Trunk 4 is part of the Canadian province of Nova Scotia's system of Trunk Highways. The route runs from Highway 104 exit 7 near Thomson Station to Glace Bay. Until the construction of the Trans-Canada Highway, Trunk 4 was a major traffic link in northern Nova Scotia and Cape Breton, and is still used on Cape Breton as an alternative to Highway 105. The highway was originally called the King's Highway, however, this name is no longer applied to the entire road. The only remaining historic section of the highway that maintains the name "King" is King's Road in Sydney.

Silwerboomkloof Natural Heritage Site is a small, protected valley (“kloof”), near the Helderberg Nature Reserve, in Somerset West, South Africa.
The Krantzkloof Nature Reserve, managed by Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife, conserves 668 ha of the Molweni and Nkutu River gorges that incise the sandstone Kloof plateau in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The reserve conserves coastal scarp forest, sourveld grassland, a cliff face biotope, and aquatic environments along its rivers. Scarp forest is a threatened forest type, protected by South Africa's forests act of 1998, while the grassland is classified as KwaZulu-Natal sandstone sourveld, the most threatened terrestrial habitat in the Durban metropole. The reserve was established in 1950 and was augmented by land donations as late as 1999.
Charlon Anduele Romano Kloof is a Dutch-Surinamese basketball player for FC Porto in the Portuguese Basketball League. Standing at 6 ft 3 in, Kloof plays the point guard position and is a current member of the Dutch national basketball team.
The Clive Cheesman Nature Reserve is a protected area of riverine forest and grassland in the suburb of Kloof, Durban, South Africa.
The Moreleta Kloof Nature Reserve in eastern Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa, was part of the farm Garsfontein which was acquired by Jacobus Cornelius Rademeyer in 1859. He had married Cornelia Jacoba Susanna Erasmus on 2 Jul 1837 in George, Eastern Cape. Cornelia Erasmus was a daughter of Daniel Jacobus Elardus Erasmus, who was the first settler on the farm Zwartkop, and sister of Daniel Elardus Erasmus who had settled on the farm Doornkloof. Jacobus Rademeyer operated Garsfontein as a dairy farm and Carel Erasmus purchased the farm from him in 1877 and built a house there; the house was later converted into a chapel which is still in use. In 1903, his son-in-law, Johan Marnewick, built another house on the farm; this house has been converted into a restaurant named Rademeyer's. The reserve is managed by the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality and admission is free. The reserve covers 100 hectares.
Msinsi Community Conservancy is an 8.5-hectare (21-acre) sandstone sourveld grasslands reserve in Kloof, Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The park is managed by the Kloof Conservancy, a community organisation that promotes conservation of natural heritage.
