Gods on Voodoo Moon is the first recording and release by American rock band White Zombie, released independently as an EP in November 1985. [1] [2] It was their only release with Paul "Ena" Kostabi on guitar and Peter Landau on drums.
The six songs, including "Black Friday" and "Dead or Alive", were all recorded in one session and in one take each. [3]

The EP was initially only released to vinyl. The songs "Black Friday" and "Dead Or Alive" were recorded during the same sessions but were excluded from the vinyl pressings due to lack of space. A cassette version was released in 1989 on Caroline Records featuring the two unreleased tracks. Due to a lack of funds at the time, only 300 copies of vinyl were pressed at Macola Records, Hollywood, California, 100 of which were sold, while the others remained in the possession of the band. [3]
The EP was re-released by the Numero Group on June 3, 2016, as part of the It Came from N.Y.C. retrospective box set. Remastered by Jay Yuenger, the set was available on 5 vinyl discs with a free digital download in 320 KBps MP3 format, or as a 3-CD set. This release includes the two tracks previously only available on cassette.
It was re-released on Record Store Day, in April 2017, on red ("Zombie Blood") vinyl and white ("Zombie Pus") vinyl, on 750 copies total.

White Zombie was an American heavy metal band that formed in 1985. Based in New York City, they started as a noise rock band, releasing three EPs and one studio album in that style before changing to a heavy metal-oriented sound that broke them into the mainstream. The albums La Sexorcisto: Devil Music Volume One (1992) and Astro-Creep: 2000 (1995) established them as an influential act in groove metal and industrial metal, respectively. Their best-known songs include "Thunder Kiss '65", "Black Sunshine" and "More Human than Human". The group officially disbanded in 1998. In 2000, White Zombie was included on VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock, ranking at No. 56.
Nervous Breakdown is the debut EP by the American hardcore punk band Black Flag, released in January 1979 through SST Records. It was the label's first release.
The Offspring is the debut studio album by American rock band the Offspring, released on June 15, 1989, by Nemesis Records. After being out of print for years, the album was re-released by Nitro and Epitaph Records in 1995 with a different album cover. Only 1,300 copies were made in 1997, but the airplay received by key radio shows was enough to gain significant recognition. An extended play containing the song was released on 27 October 1997, peaking at number eight on the UK Singles Chart that November. The 1,300 originals, mixed by dub and electronica artist Ott, are now collectors' items.
Soul-Crusher is the debut studio album by American rock band White Zombie, released independently in November 1987 by Silent Explosion. It was the band's second and final release with Tom "Five" Guay on guitar. Building off the sound established on Psycho-Head Blowout, the band matured its sound while placing further emphasis on the individual roles of its players. The album caught the attention of major labels and in 1988 was adopted and re-issued by Caroline Records.
Pig Heaven/Slaughter the Grey is the second EP by American rock band White Zombie, independently released in May 1986. Two different pressings of this album were created, both of which were limited to 500 copies each. By this time, drummer Peter Landau was replaced by Ivan de Prume, who would remain with the band until Astro-Creep: 2000, and guitarist Paul "Ena" Kostabi by Tim Jeffs.
Psycho-Head Blowout is the third EP by American rock band White Zombie, released in May 1987 by Silent Explosion. The album was recorded with producer and composer Kramer and was the band's first to feature guitarist Tom Guay, who had a pivotal influence on the band's sound. It was also the debut release of the band's short-lived label Silent Explosion. The record was the band's first release to receive critical notice and garnered them notice in underground circles.
"Love Is Strong" is a song by English rock band the Rolling Stones, released as the opening track, and first single, from their 20th British and 22nd American studio album, Voodoo Lounge (1994). Issued as a single on 4 July 1994 by Virgin, the song preceded the release of Voodoo Lounge by a week. "Love Is Strong" peaked at No. 14 in the band's native United Kingdom and at No. 2 in Canada and Finland but stalled at No. 91 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Wide Awake in Europe is a live EP by rock band U2. The release was created by the organizers of Record Store Day to bring customers into independent record shops for holiday shopping. A limited number of 5,000 EPs were produced, and were released on Black Friday in 2010, mostly to record shops in North America. The EP features three live tracks on a 12-inch vinyl record, taken from three different concerts during the U2 360° Tour in 2009 and 2010. The EP comprises the songs "I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight", "Moment of Surrender", and "Mercy", the latter a previously unreleased track that was debuted on tour.
The untitled demo by the American black metal band Deafheaven was self-released by the band on June 1, 2010. The demo would later be remastered/re-released as an EP in 2012 through Sargent House.
Like a Virgin & Other Big Hits! is an EP by American singer and songwriter Madonna, released on February 10, 1985 through Sire Records. It was originally only available in Japan, but was reissued in North America and Europe in 2016 for Record Store Day. The EP includes four tracks—"Like a Virgin" from the singer's 1984 album of the same name, and "Holiday", "Lucky Star" and "Borderline" from her eponymous debut record.
Suicide Estate or Suicide Estate Antibiotic Armageddon is an EP by JK Flesh, a moniker of English musician Justin Broadrick, and was originally released on February 27, 2016 through Hospital Productions as a cassette. Since then, the EP has been rereleased numerous times in different formats, ultimately culminating in a widespread digital release in February 2017, and a double LP in November 2017. Each edition features a different tracklist.
The Sea Nymphs is the self-titled debut studio album by the English psychedelic folk band the Sea Nymphs, an offshoot of the rock band Cardiacs featuring Tim Smith, Sarah Smith and William D. Drake. It was originally released as a limited edition promotional cassette by All My Eye and Betty Martin Music in 1992 and was reissued on CD via Cardiacs' label the Alphabet Business Concern in 1995.
