Golden Strip Career Center (GSCC) is a part-time secondary vocational school addressed in Greenville, South Carolina, United States, though it is extremely close to Mauldin. The school offers a variety of programs, each with a focus on some specific career field, and students can earn certifications, licenses, and even college credit following the completion of such programs. Most students at Golden Strip Career Center are also enrolled in non-alternative high schools in the school district; therefore, school bus transportation between these schools and the career center is provided on school days. History

Golden Strip Career Center was named after "the Golden Strip," an informal collective title for the cities of Fountain Inn, Simpsonville, and Mauldin; though the school technically is addressed in Greenville, it is just outside of Mauldin.

Simpsonville is part of the "Golden Strip", along with Mauldin and Fountain Inn, an area which is noted for having low unemployment due to a diversity of industries including Para-Chem, Kemet, Sealed Air and Milliken.

On the morning of February 24, 2016, several buildings at the campus were damaged due to a windstorm. No people that were on campus at that time were hurt or injured. [3]

Automotive industry Organizations involved with motor vehicles

The automotive industry comprises a wide range of companies and organizations involved in the design, development, manufacturing, marketing, and selling of motor vehicles. On several occasions, Greenville County School District has held job fairs at the career center, due to a shortage in district employees such as bus drivers and janitors. [5] [6]

The School serves the residents of five local public school districts: East Lycoming School District, Loyalsock Township School District, Montoursville Area School District, Muncy School District and Warrior Run School District. Ray W. Hopkins Mauldin Senior Center is a senior center located in Mauldin, South Carolina, United States. Membership at the senior center is exclusively for individuals over the age of 54, but several organizations have used the campus for other purposes.
