Gopalpur is a block in Bhagalpur district of Bihar, India. It is one of sixteen blocks under Bhagalpur district.According to census 2011 information the sub-district code of Gopalpur Block (CD) is 01334. [3] It lies in the Anga region of India.

Area and Demographics

Total area of Gopalpur Block is 143 km2. Gopalpur has a population of 94,952 peoples. It has a population density of 665 inhabitants per square kilometre. [4]

Religion

The block comprises several villages and towns, each contributing to its vibrant socio-economic fabric. [5] According to Census Of India, 2011 Hinduism is the pre-dominant religion of Gopalpur with nearly 94% of the total population. Gopalpur also has a small minority of Muslims with 6.25% following it .
