The Great Flinders Football League (GFFL) is an Australian rules football competition based in the Eyre Peninsula region of South Australia, Australia. It is an affiliated member of the South Australian National Football League. The current Premiers are the United Yeelanna Football Club who defeated the Tumby Bay Football Club in the 2023 Grand Final at Karkoo.
Elliston and Western Districts merged and transferred from the Mid West Football League prior to the start of the 2021 season. Near the end of the 2021 season the clubs of the Great Flinders Football League and Great Flinders Netball Association unanimously voted to include Elliston and Districts for the 2022 season and beyond.
The Great Flinders Football League began in 1911 as the Flinders Football Association with founding clubs including Cummins, Edillilie, Pilanna, Shannon, Stokes and Yallunda Flat.

Elliston is a small coastal town in the Australian state of South Australia on the west coast of Eyre Peninsula, 169 km northwest of Port Lincoln and 641 km west of Adelaide. The township is located on Waterloo Bay. At the 2021 census, Elliston had a population of 333.
Flinders is a single-member electoral district for the South Australian House of Assembly. It is named after explorer Matthew Flinders, who was responsible for charting most of the state's coastline. It is a 58,901 km² coastal rural electorate encompassing the Eyre Peninsula and the coast along the Nullarbor Plain, based in and around the city of Port Lincoln and contains the District Councils of Ceduna, Cleve, Elliston, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Streaky Bay and Wudinna; as well as the localities of Fowlers Bay, Nullarbor and Yalata in the Pastoral Unincorporated Area. The seat was expanded in 2002 to include a western strip of land all the way to the Western Australia border.

The District Council of Elliston is a local government area covering around 6500 km2 on the Western Eyre Peninsula in South Australia. Established in 1888, the district has a diverse economy, with agriculture, commercial fishing and tourism making up the majority of the local economy.

Murdinga is a locality in South Australia located on the Eyre Peninsula about 297 kilometres (185 mi) west of the state capital of Adelaide. The name reportedly stems from an Aboriginal word for "cold".
The Mount Lofty District Football Club is an Australian rules football team based in the eastern suburbs of Adelaide which was formed in late 1978 as a merger between the former Stirling Football Club and Heathfield-Aldgate United Football Club. Adopting the moniker of "Mountain Devils", Mount Lofty initially joined the South Australian Football Association (SAFA) competition in the 1979 season and participated in that league until the end of the 1985 season. In 1986, Mount Lofty joined the Hills Football League and currently continue to field teams in both Senior and Junior grades in that competition.
