Haikou East railway station is a railway station on the Hainan eastern ring high-speed railway located at the south end of Longqun Road in Haikou, Hainan, China.
In 2018, the Haikou Transportation Center, the main bus station, relocated and is now directly to the south east of Haikou East Railway Station.

Hainan is the smallest and southernmost province of the People's Republic of China (PRC), consisting of various islands in the South China Sea. Hainan Island, the largest and most populous island in China, makes up the vast majority (97%) of the province. "Hainan", the name of the island and the province, literally means "south of the sea", reflecting its position south of the Qiongzhou Strait, which separates it from Leizhou Peninsula. Hainan is officially known as Hainan Island.
Haikou, also spelled as Hoikow is the capital and most populous city of the Chinese province of Hainan. Haikou city is situated on the northern coast of Hainan, by the mouth of the Nandu River. The northern part of the city is the district of Haidian Island, which is separated from the main part of Haikou by the Haidian River, a branch of the Nandu. Administratively, Haikou is a prefecture-level city, comprising four districts, and covering 2,280 square kilometres (880 sq mi). There are 2,046,189 inhabitants in the built-up area all living within the 4 urban districts of the city.
Yalong Bay is a 7.5 kilometres (4.7 mi) beach located in southeast Sanya, Hainan, China. It is also known as the Yalong Bay National Resort. The eastern part of the bay is occupied by PLA Navy as the East Section of Yulin Naval Base.

It is located 25 kilometres (16 mi) southeast of the city center and was opened in 1999, replacing the old Dayingshan Airport located along what is now the city's Guoxing Avenue. China's National Highway G010, also called Tongsan Expressway, was an abolished national highway in China, which ran from Tongjiang in Heilongjiang to Sanya in Hainan. It was 5,700 km (3,500 mi) in length, the longest China National Highway at the time.
South Port is a port located on the western coast of Xiuying District, Haikou, Hainan, China. It operates as the south terminal of the Yuehai Ferry service, part of the Guangdong–Hainan Railway. This ferry transports train cars across the Qiongzhou Strait between the Leizhou Peninsula at the southern tip of Guangdong on mainland China, and the northern coast of Hainan. Ferry boats arrive at South Port, unload the train cars onto tracks. The train cars then proceed a few hundred metres southeast to the Haikou Railway Station which is the last stop on the Guangdong–Hainan Railway.
The Hainan Island Ring Expressway, officially the Hainan Region Ring Expressway and designated G98, is a 612.8-kilometre-long orbital expressway (380.8 mi) that encircles the island of Hainan in the People's Republic of China.

The Hainan western ring railway is a standard-gauge railway running along the coast of the western half of Hainan Island in South China. It connects the provincial capital Haikou on the island's north coast with Sanya, the major city on Hainan's south coast. The rail line is 363.8 km long; its terminals are Haikou railway station and Sanya railway station. Cargo trains enter this railway from Zhanjiang, Guangdong at the South Port of the Guangdong–Hainan Railway.

Guoxing Avenue is a major street in Haikou, Hainan, China. It runs in an east-west direction in the heart of the city. Its west end terminates at Longkun Road and its east end terminates at the Qiongzhou Bridge which crosses the Nandu River.
Haikou Transportation Center, also known as Haikou Bus terminal, is the main bus station serving Haikou, Hainan, China. It is located across the road from Haikou East railway station's south side. It was built during 2017 and opened in October of that year. The main bus station was once called Haikou South Station, and was located on Nanhai Road around 1.5 km northwest of Haikou East railway station.
The Meishe River is a river within Haikou City, Hainan, China. Its source is the spillway at the east end of the Shapo Reservoir located just south of the city. The Meishe flows eastward under Longkun Road south of the Haikou East Railway Station. It then turns north, past the Meishe River National Wetland Park and winds northward through the east side of urban Haikou, under Guoxing Avenue, finally emptying into the Haidian River just east of Heping Bridge.
