Hailey Colborn (born October 10, 2000) is an American beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Teen USA 2018. She is the second entrant from Kansas to win the title after Keylee Sue Sanders won Miss Teen USA 1995.

Life and career

Biography

Colborn was born in Wichita, Kansas to parents Kevin and Denise Colborn, and trained in classical ballet for 14 years. [1] While a student, she started the mentorship program SelfPosi, which she uses to travel to middle schools to talk to girls about the importance of self-love. [2] Colborn graduated from Wichita Northwest High School in 2018. [3] [2] [4] While in high school, she was class president. [1] Colborn attended Princeton University, studying English Literature and graduating in 2022. As of 2023, she leads an online TikTok community of "hot, cool, well-read people" called "Hot Literati." [5] [6]

Pageantry

In 2017, Colborn competed in the Miss Kansas Teen USA 2018 competition, representing Greater Wichita. [7] She went on to win the competition, and was crowned Miss Kansas Teen USA 2018 by outgoing titleholder Malerie Moore. She had previously competed in the Miss Kansas' Outstanding Teen 2016 competition, where she was the first runner-up and a finalist in the fitness and talent categories. [8] [9] As Miss Kansas Teen USA 2018, Colborn earned the right to represent Kansas at the Miss Teen USA 2018 competition in Shreveport, Louisiana. [10] [11] She competed in the final on May 18, 2018 in Hirsch Memorial Coliseum, and was crowned the winner, besting first runner-up Kirby Elizabeth Self of South Carolina. [12] [13] [14] She is the second entrant from Kansas to win the crown.

Colborn completed her reign on April 28, 2019, after crowning Kaliegh Garris of Connecticut as her successor at the Miss Teen USA 2019 competition in Reno, Nevada. [15] [16] [17] [18]

Miss Teen USA is a beauty pageant that run since 1983 by the Miss Universe Organization for girls aged 14–19. Unlike its sister pageants Miss Universe, which currently broadcasts on Fox and Miss USA, this pageant is webcast on the Miss Teen USA website and simulcast on mobile devices and video game consoles. It was later rescheduled for November 7, 2020, at the Exhibition Centre and the Soundstage at Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee. Kaliegh Garris of Connecticut crowned Ki'ilani Arruda of Hawaii as her successor at the end of the event. The competition was hosted by Allie LaForce and Miss USA 2019 Cheslie Kryst.

The competition was hosted by Miss USA 2021 Elle Smith and Christian Murphy. Breanna Myles of Florida crowned Faron Medhi of Nebraska as her successor at the end of the event.

Miss USA 2023 will be the 72nd Miss USA pageant that will be held in September 23, 2023 at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada. Morgan Romano of North Carolina will crown her successor at the end of the event. The winner will go on to represent the United States at Miss Universe 2023 competition.
