Ashley Coleman (born 10 November 1981) is an American model and beauty queen who won Miss Teen USA 1999 [1] representing her hometown of Camden and the state of Delaware. Coleman graduated from Caesar Rodney High School in 1999. Before winning her state title, she had modeled for Tommy Hilfiger, Rite Aid, Johnson & Johnson, Seventeen, and Teen People.
Coleman won her first title, Miss Delaware Teen USA, in 1998 and won the Miss Teen USA 1999 title at Shreveport, Louisiana, on August 24, 1999. [2] Coleman was crowned by Vanessa Minnillo of South Carolina and later gave up her title to Jillian Parry from Pennsylvania on August 26, 2000.
After winning the title, she attended the University of Miami and took classes at Delaware State University, completing three years toward a degree in education. Before completing her final year, Coleman moved to Los Angeles in 2003 to enter the entertainment industry.[ citation needed ]
In Los Angeles, Coleman appeared on The Price Is Right and pursued further modeling work. [ citation needed ] In 2006, she returned to the pageant scene, placing third runner-up to Tamiko Nash in the Miss California USA 2006 pageant.[ citation needed ]
Miss USA is an American beauty pageant that has been held annually since 1952 to select the entrant from United States in the Miss Universe pageant. The Miss Universe Organization operated both pageants, as well as Miss Teen USA, until 2020, when the organization announced it was licensing operation of the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants to Crystle Stewart, Miss USA for 2008 prior to her suspension in October 2022, thus returning the said pageants to the Miss Universe Organization.
Miss Teen USA is a beauty pageant that has been run since 1983 by the Miss Universe Organization for girls aged 14–19 years old as of January 1st of the competition year. They must be US citizens, and cannot have been married, pregnant, or have children. Unlike its sister pageants Miss Universe, which currently broadcasts on JKN18 and like its sister pageant Miss USA, it is televised on The CW television network starting in 2024, after being streamed online for several years. The Miss Universe Organization previously operated Miss Teen USA, as well as Miss USA, until 2020 when the rights to produce both pageants were licensed to Miss USA 2008 Crystle Stewart prior to her suspension in October 2022, thus returning the said pageants to the Miss Universe Organization. The parent company of all three pageants and the Miss Universe organization remains the same under the licensing agreement: JKN Metaverse Inc., a subsidiary of JKN Global Group.

The Miss Delaware Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Delaware in the Miss Teen USA pageant. It was formerly directed by Crown Productions from 1993 to 2007, then by D&D Productions from 2007 to 2018. CW Productions became the new directors for the pageant starting in 2019. In 2020, CW Productions was terminated. The license to produce the 2021 state pageants was awarded to V&M Productions, LLC into the directorship of Vincenza Carrieri-Russo. This is only the second time that the pageant is produced by a former Miss Delaware USA.

As Miss USA, Campanella represented the United States at Miss Universe 2011, where she reached the Top 16.
