Hailey Caitlin Rose Duff MBE (born 24 January 1997) is a Scottish curler [2] from Forfar. [3] She is the 2022 Olympic Champion in women's curling.

Contents

At the international level, she is a 2021 European champion curler, playing lead for skip Eve Muirhead.

At the national level, she is a Scottish women's championship bronze medallist (2019), Scottish mixed doubles championship bronze medallist (2015), Scottish junior champion curler (2018) and silver medallist (2016, 2017).

Duff was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2022 Birthday Honours for services to curling. [4]

Personal life

Hailey Duff was born and grew up in New Zealand. Some years later her family moved to Scotland.

She is from family of curlers. Her father John Duff is a long time curler, and was the runner-up at the 2020 Scottish Senior Championships, and is a bronze medallist with his daughter at the 2015 Scottish Mixed Doubles Championship. [10] ) [11]

Duff works as an assistant buyer at Garden Furniture Scotland [12] and is also studying sport and fitness at The Open University.

She graduated from the University of Stirling in 2019 with a degree in Business and Finance. [3]

Irene Schori is a retired Swiss curler from Bremgarten. During her career, she won two World Women's Curling Championships in 2014 and 2016 as third for the Binia Feltscher rink. She also won gold at the 2014 European Curling Championships and bronze at the 2010 European Curling Championships. In mixed doubles, she won back-to-back World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships in 2008 and 2009 with partner Toni Müller. She was the alternate on the Swiss women's team that placed fourth at the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Lauren Gray is a Scottish former curler from Stirling. As alternate for the Eve Muirhead rink, she won a gold medal at the 2013 World Championships for Scotland, and a bronze medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics for Great Britain. She became lead for Muirhead's team in 2016, and won a gold medal at the 2017 European Championships. In 2019, she was promoted to third on the team, but returned to playing lead in 2021. After a disappointing result in the 2021 World Championships, Gray was dropped from Eve Muirhead's team and replaced by Hailey Duff.

Agnes Ellinor Knochenhauer is a Swedish curler who competed at 5 World Curling Championships and at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi and 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, winning a silver and a gold medal respectively.

Galina Petrovna Arsenkina is a retired Russian curler from Moscow. She competed at the 2018 and 2022 Winter Olympics as the second on the Olympic Athletes from Russia and Russian Olympic Committee women's curling teams, skipped by Victoria Moiseeva and Alina Kovaleva respectively. She has won two medals at the World Women's Curling Championship: a bronze in 2018 and a silver in 2021. Melanie Barbezat is a Swiss retired curler from Zollikofen. From 2018 to 2022, she played lead for the Silvana Tirinzoni rink that won three consecutive World Women's Curling Championship titles in 2019, 2021 and 2022. The team also won the 2019 Champions Cup Grand Slam of Curling event, and competed at the 2022 Winter Olympics where they placed fourth.

Mili Smith is a retired Scottish curler from Perth. She was the alternate on the British team that won the gold medal at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.

Victoria Wright is a retired Scottish curler from Stranraer, and 2022 Olympic Champion in women's curling, playing third on Team Muirhead.

Bill Muirhead was a Scottish curler. He was a World Men's silver medallist, bronze medallist (1969) and three-time Scottish men's champion. His daughter Billie-May competed at the 1983 World Championship. His brother Thomas (Tom) Muirhead is the father of Gordon and grandfather of Glen, Eve, and Thomas Muirhead. Bill Muirhead previously coached David Smith in the 1980s. He died in Scone on 24 November 2021, at the age of 92.

Laurie St-Georges is a Canadian curler from Laval, Quebec. She currently skips her own team on the World Curling Tour. St-Georges represented Quebec at the 2021 Scotties Tournament of Hearts and led her team to a 6–6 record. She also won the Marj Mitchell Sportsmanship Award, which is voted on by the players at the event.
