The Haina Occidental Port (often referred to as "Rio Haina") is located in the Haina River, Dominican Republic near Santo Domingo. [1] President Trujillo inaugurated Haina Occidental Port in 1953. [2]
Haina Port has two terminals, which are located on either side of the Haina River. The older terminal is called Haina Occidental Terminal (which is the current name of the Port), and the newer terminal is named Haina Oriental Terminal.
According to a statistical report submitted by Dominican Port Authority (APORDOM) for January to June 2017, Multimodal Caucedo Port had 66.3% of TEU (Twenty-foot Equivalent Unit) movement in the island, followed by Rio Haina Port with 27.4%, and the other ports in the Dominican Republic handling 6.1%. Santo Domingo, once known as Santo Domingo de Guzmán, known as Ciudad Trujillo between 1936 and 1961, is the capital and largest city of the Dominican Republic and the largest metropolitan area in the Caribbean by population. As of 2022, the city and immediate surrounding area had a population of 1,029,110 while the total population is 3,798,699 when including Greater Santo Domingo. The city is coterminous with the boundaries of the Distrito Nacional, itself bordered on three sides by Santo Domingo Province.

The municipality is located in a valley at the foothills of the mountains belonging to the Cordillera Central, between the Nigua and Nizao rivers. Within this municipality there is one municipal district : Hato Damas.

Puerto Plata, officially known as San Felipe de Puerto Plata, is a major coastal city in the Dominican Republic, and capital of the province of Puerto Plata. The city is a major trading port. Puerto Plata has resorts such as Playa Dorada and Costa Dorada, which are located east of the city proper. There are 100,000 hotel beds in the city. The first aerial tramway of the Caribbean is located in Puerto Plata, in which visitors can ride up to the Pico Isabel de Torres, a 793-meter (2600-foot) high mountain within the city.

The Multimodal Caucedo Port is located in Caucedo, Boca Chica, Santo Domingo Province, Dominican Republic. This harbor is only used for cargo operations incoming from several countries in the Caribbean zone and is the youngest and the most modern port in the island.
The Port of Puerto Plata is located in San Felipe de Puerto Plata, Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. This is the main harbor in the north coast and it is currently used for cargo operations and several military movements. Although the government is planning to rebuild the old terminal for commercial passenger operations.
Port of San Pedro de Macoris is located on the Higuamo river, San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic. This port is mainly used to discharge bulk fertilizer, cement, clinker, coal, wheat, diesel and LPG. It is also used to export sugar and molasses produced by several sugar cane mills in the region.
Central Romana Port is located in Romana River, La Romana, Dominican Republic, and belongs to Central Romana Corporation, which also owns the largest sugar mill in the country.
Cayo Levantado Port or Samana Port or Fondeaderon Port is located in Arroyo Barril, Samana, Dominican Republic.
Manzanillo Port is located in Manzanillo, Monte Cristi Province, Dominican Republic. It is very close to the border with Haiti.
Port of Cabo Rojo or Cabo Rojo Port is a port located in Cabo Rojo, Dominican Republic province of Pedernales. It has two installations for Grapnel export.
Barahona Port or Port of Barahona is located in Barahona, Dominican Republic.
Port of Azua is located in Azua Province, Dominican Republic.
