The Florida Gators softball team represents the University of Florida in the sport of softball. Florida competes in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) and the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The Gators play their home games at Katie Seashole Pressly Softball Stadium on the university's Gainesville, Florida campus, and are currently led by head coach Tim Walton. In the twenty-six year history of the Florida Softball program, the team has won two Women's College World Series (WCWS) national championships, nine SEC regular season championships, five SEC tournament championships, and have made eleven WCWS appearances.
Stacey Lauren Nelson is an American, former college softball All-American pitcher. She played at Florida from 2006 to 2009, leading the University of Florida to its first Women's College World Series berth in 2008 and a national runner-up appearance in the 2009 Women's College World Series. Nelson was also the 13th pick in the 2009 National Pro Fastpitch's draft by the defunct Washington Glory. Nelson pitched for the United States women's national softball team in 2009 and 2010 before attending law school at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. She is the Florida career record holder wins, ERA, shutouts and innings pitched. She also ranks all-time in several career categories in the Southeastern Conference and the NCAA Division I.
Danielle Elaine Lawrie is a Canadian, former collegiate All-American, medal-winning Olympian, professional All-Star softball pitcher and current sports commentator. Lawrie played college softball at Washington, in which she was part of the 2009 Women's College World Series championship team and was named Most Outstanding Player. Lawrie currently plays for the Canada women's national softball team, including during the 2008 Summer Olympics, and the 2020 Summer Olympics, where she won a bronze medal.
Elizabeth Dieter Torina is an American softball coach and former pitcher who is the current head coach at LSU.
Sierra Joy Romero is a Mexican American professional softball player. She formerly was a volunteer assistant softball coach for the Oregon Ducks softball team. She played college softball for Michigan from 2013 to 2016, where she set numerous records and was a four-time All-American. She holds the Big Ten Conference career Triple Crown, along with the total bases and slugging percentage records, simultaneously leading all of the NCAA Division I in runs scored and grand slams. She was the inaugural winner of both the espnW Softball Player of the Year in 2015 and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Player of the Year in 2016, when she also took home the Honda Sports Award Softball Player of the Year and USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year awards. She is one of nine NCAA players to hit .400 with 200 RBIs, 50 home runs and an .800 slugging percentage for her career and was named the #5 Greatest College Softball Player.
Angelique "Angel" Bunner is an American, former professional softball pitcher. Bunner pitched collegiately for Auburn from 2008 to 2012. In the 2012 NPF Draft, she was drafted seventeenth overall by the Carolina Diamonds. During her professional career in the National Pro Fastpitch, she played for the USSSA Pride, Chicago Bandits, Pennsylvania Rebellion, Carolina Diamonds, NY/NJ Comets and most recently the Beijing Eagles. She currently ranks in career innings pitched and won a Cowles Cup championship with the Bandits in 2016.
The 2015 NPF College Draft is the twelfth annual collegiate draft for NPF, and was held on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, 5:30 pm CST at the CMA Theater in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville, Tennessee. Draft order was determined by regular season standings from 2014, but subsequent trades and transactions altered the overall draft order. The draft was broadcast live on CBS Sports Network.
The 2010 National Pro Fastpitch season was the seventh season of professional softball under the name National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) for the only professional women's fastpitch softball league in the United States. From 1997 to 2002, NPF operated under the names Women's Pro Fastpitch (WPF) and Women's Pro Softball League (WPSL). Each year, the playoff teams battle for the Cowles Cup.
The USSSA Pride is a professional softball team based in Viera, Florida and a former member of Women's Professional Fastpitch (WPF). Founded in 2009, they previously played in National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) from 2009 to 2019. They play their home games at USSSA Space Coast Complex.
Jessica Burroughs is an American former collegiate All-American professional softball pitcher. She played college softball at Florida State, being named a four-time all-conference and back-to-back Pitcher of the Year in her last two seasons. She would help the Seminoles to a semifinal finish at the 2016 Women's College World Series. Burroughs was selected first overall by the USSSA Pride in the 2017 NPF Draft. She went on to play for and win consecutive titles with the Pride in 2018 and 2019. She later played in the inaugural season of the Athletes Unlimited Softball league in 2020.
Kelly Katlyn Barnhill is an American professional softball pitcher. She played college softball for the Florida Gators from 2016 to 2019, earning All-American honors during her tenure with the team. She was named the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year, Honda Sports Award, and espnW Player of the Year in 2017. She is the career no hitters (7), strikeouts, strikeout ratio (10.5) and WHIP leader for the Gators. She also ranks in career strikeout ratio for both the Southeastern Conference and the NCAA Division I.
Stephanie Renee Brombacher is a former American collegiate softball pitcher for the University of Florida Gators. A 5'10" right-hander, Brombacher was a starting pitcher for the Gators from 2008 through 2011. Among all Gator pitchers, Brombacher ranks in the top ten for appearances, starts, innings pitched, wins, strikeouts, and earned run average as of 2017.
Paige Lowary is an American former softball pitcher, originally from Dallas Center, Iowa. She attended Dallas Center-Grimes High School in Grimes, Iowa. She attended the University of Missouri in 2015 and 2016, before transferring to the University of Oklahoma. She holds the Sooner career record for saves (18) in just two seasons and for her full career ranks top-5 for the same category in all the NCAA Division I. At both universities, she was both a starting and relief pitcher for the school's respective college softball teams. During her junior season in 2017, Lowary led Oklahoma to the 2017 Women's College World Series final, where they defeated No. 1 Florida, 5–4 to claim the national championship. Lowary was chosen as the number-one pick in the National Pro Fastpitch draft and went on to play for the USSSA Pride for the 2018–2019 season.
Jolene Nicole Henderson is an American, former collegiate All-American, professional All-Star, right-handed hitting softball pitcher and first baseman and softball Assistant Coach, originally from Elk Grove, California. She was a starting pitcher for the California Golden Bears from 2010–13 where she is the career leader in wins and was a 4-time All-Pac-12 player. She is the reigning National Pro Fastpitch Pitcher of The Year after being drafted #3 overall in 2013 and currently ranks top-10 in career wins, ERA, WHIP and fielding percentage and is on the roster for the independent softball team the USSSA Pride. She also played on the United States women's national softball team in 2014.
Paige Nicole Parker is an American, former collegiate four-time All-American, professional softball pitcher and current assistant head coach at Utah. She played college softball at Oklahoma, and won back-to-back National Championships with the Sooners in 2016 and 2017. Parker is a career record holder for perfect games (4) for the school and also ranks top-10 in the Big 12 Conference and the NCAA Division I for the same category. She was drafted sixth overall in the 2018 NPF Draft and went on to play for the USSSA Pride.
Jessica "Jessie" Lynn Warren is an American, former collegiate All-American, professional softball player. She played college softball for the Florida State Seminoles, winning the 2018 Women's College World Series national title as a senior, and was subsequently named Most Outstanding Player for the series.
Madison Shipman is an American former professional softball player. She played college softball at Tennessee.
Blaire Luna is an American, former collegiate All-American, right-handed pro softball pitcher, originally from Austin, Texas. She attended Bowie High School in Austin, Texas. She later attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she pitched for the Texas Longhorns softball team in the Big 12 Conference and was named a Second Team and three-time First Team All-Conference honoree. She currently ranks 10th in career strikeout ratio for the NCAA Division I. In her senior year, Luna led Texas softball to a berth in the 2013 Women's College World Series semifinals, where they lost to Tennessee, 2–0. She later went on to play professional softball for the USSSA Pride of National Pro Fastpitch, and internationally in New Zealand.
Aubree Munro Watson is an American, former college softball player, medal-winning Olympian, professional softball catcher. She played college softball for the Florida Gators where she won two NCAA Championships, and played professionally for the USSSA Pride of the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF). She is currently a member of the United States women's national softball team, and represented Team USA at the 2020 Summer Olympics and won a silver medal.
Amanda Lorenz is an American professional softball player for the USSSA Pride and member of the United States women's national softball team. She played college softball for the Florida Gators, where she was named NFCA National Freshman of the Year in 2016.
