Hans Raj (born 24 April 1983 in Dhaiyas, Distt. Chamba) is a former deputy speaker of Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly and a leader of Bharatiya Janata Party. He was elected to the assembly from Churah in Chamba district. [2] He was and studied BA, BEd, MA and M.Phil. [3] He was first elected to the assembly in 2012.
Raj holds B.A., B.Ed, M.A., M.Phil, and Ph.D. degrees.
Raj is the son of Shri Nirmal. He married Smt. Hameeru Devi, and has one son and two daughters.
Raj's political career began as a Member of Zila Parishad from 2011 to 2012. He was elected to the State Assembly in December 2012 and was re-elected in December 2017. During his tenure, he served as a member of the Welfare and Library & Member Amenities Committees from 2013 to 2017.
Raj served as the Deputy Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha from 10 January 2018 to December 2022. Elected for the third consecutive term in December 2022, he has been nominated as a Member of the Welfare & Privileges Committees.
Beyond his political role, Raj engages in social activities, particularly working for the development of education, health, and the environment under the Pratham NGO.
Raj's favorite pastime is cricket.
Raj is fluent in Hindi and English.

Virbhadra Singh was an Indian politician who served 6 terms and 21 years as the 4th Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh. A leader of the Indian National Congress party, he was elected 9 times as a Member of Legislative Assembly to the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha and 5 times as Member of Parliament to the Lok Sabha. Virbhadra Singh was popularly known by the honorific Raja Sahib. Singh holds the distinction of being the longest serving Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, holding the office from 1983 to 1990, from 1993 to 1998, from 2003 to 2007 and finally from 2012 to 2017, when he was succeeded by the BJP's Jai Ram Thakur. He was elected to the Lok Sabha in 1962, 1967, 1971, 1980 and 2009. Singh served as a Union Minister in the governments of Indira Gandhi and Manmohan Singh. At the time of his demise, he was serving as an MLA from Arki constituency.
