Harpalus fulvicornis is a species of ground beetle in the subfamily Harpalinae. [1] It was described by Thunberg in 1806. [1]

Josef (Joseph) August Schultes was an Austrian botanist and professor from Vienna. Together with Johann Jacob Roemer (1763–1819), he published the 16th edition of Linnaeus' Systema Vegetabilium. In 1821, he was elected a foreign member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. He was the father of Julius Hermann Schultes (1804-1840).
Harpalus, son of Machatas, was a Macedonian aristocrat and childhood friend of Alexander the Great in the 4th century BC. Harpalus was repeatedly entrusted with official duties by Alexander and absconded with large sums of money on three occasions. Alexander appointed him treasurer of his empire in Babylon in 330 BC. In 324 BC he fled from Babylon to Athens with a large sum of money. The resulting political controversy in Athens was a contributing factor in the Lamian War.
Arnold Clas ("Classe") Robert Thunberg was a Finnish speed skater who won five Olympic gold medals – three at the inaugural Winter Olympics held in Chamonix in 1924 and two at the 1928 Winter Olympics held in St. Moritz. He was the most successful athlete at both of these Winter Olympics, sharing the honour for 1928 Winter Olympics with Johan Grøttumsbraaten of Norway. No other athlete ever won such a high fraction of all Olympic events at a single Games. He was born and died in Helsinki.

Masanobu's family was descended from Masanari, a younger son of Konō Michitaka, daimyō from Mino province who had been a vassal of Oda Nobunaga and later Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Thunberg's trip from Dejima to Edo passed through Yamashiro, and his account reports that Masanobu was daimyō of Yodo.

In Europe, it can be found in Albania, Benelux, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine, all states of former Yugoslavia, Central Europe, and southern and central parts of Russia. It is also found in such Near Eastern countries as Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan, and into Algeria of North Africa.

Safe Hands Challenge is a campaign launched by the World Health Organization (WHO) in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic. It was launched on 13 March 2020 by Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the Director of the WHO. The campaign urges everyone to wash their hands regularly for 40 seconds to keep themselves safe and prevent the transmission of disease. The WHO has called on celebrities from around the world, such as Leonardo DiCaprio and Greta Thunberg, to participate in the Safe Hands Challenge.
