Hassan Mtenga (from Mtwara Region) is a Tanzanian politician currently serves as a Chama Cha Mapinduzi's Member of Parliament for Mtwara Urban constituency since November 2020. [1]
Lindi is a historic beach town in southern Tanzania. It serves as the regional hub of the country's least populated region,the Lindi Region,after which the region is named. Situated in southeast Tanzania,the town is situated at the far end of Lindi Bay on the Indian Ocean. The settlement is situated 105 km north of Mtwara,Tanzania's southernmost coastal town,and 450 km south of Dar es Salaam.
Mtwara Region is one of Tanzania's 31 administrative regions. The regional capital is the municipality of Mtwara. Mtwara Region is home to one of the most infuluencial people in Tanzania,the Makonde. Mtwara is home to Tanzania's 4th president Benjamin Mkapa and is home to a number of influential artists. The boundary with Mozambique to the south is formed by the Ruvuma River. To the west,Mtwara is bordered by Ruvuma Region,to the north by Lindi Region,and to the east is the Indian Ocean.
Mtwara is the capital city of Mtwara Region in southeastern Tanzania. In the 1940s,it was planned and constructed as the export facility for the disastrous Tanganyika groundnut scheme,but was somewhat neglected when the scheme was abandoned in 1951. The city is spread out over a large area planned to accommodate up to 200,000 people. The present population is around 141,000. As part of the development associated with the failed Tanganyika groundnut scheme,Mtwara features a deep-water port that can accommodate ocean-going vessels,and a range of large municipal buildings,including a post office. Recent improvements in the port made it possible for big container ships to berth there.

Several design studies and limited construction work were completed in the early 1980s,but the Unity Bridge was not finished due to lack of funds.
The Mtwara–Mbamba Bay Road,also called the A19 Road,connects the city of Mtwara on the Indian Ocean coast,to the town of Mbamba Bay on the eastern coast of Lake Malawi. It is a busy and important transport corridor in the southern regions of Tanzania. It is also an integral part of the Mtwara Development Corridor that spans four Southern African countries;Malawi,Mozambique,Tanzania and Zambia.
The Makwe or Macue language is a close relative of Swahili spoken on the coast of the Cabo Delgado Province of Mozambique,and across the border in Mtwara Region of Tanzania. Although it shares high lexical similarity (60%) with Swahili,it is not intelligible with it,nor with its cousin Mwani. Arends et al. suggest it might turn out to be a Makonde–Swahili mixed language.
Hasnain Mohamed Murji is a Tanzanian CCM politician and Member of Parliament for Mtwara Town constituency from 2010 to 2015. He was elected in the 2010 general elections with more than 56% of the popular vote. He had also served the same constituency during the term 2000–2005.
Mtwara Thermal Power Station is a power plant owned by the Tanzania Electric Supply Company. The station has a capacity of 18 MW (24,000 hp) and uses natural gas from the Mnazi Bay gas wells in Mtwara. The station is not connected to the national grid but is instead connected to the Mtwara/Lindi mini-grid.

The Mtwara Development Project is a major infrastructure development project involving southern Tanzania,northern Mozambique,eastern Malawi and Eastern Zambia. The goal of this project is to provide road,rail and waterway access from the surrounding region to the Port of Mtwara. The region and the corridor has been neglected by the respective governments for over 40 years and the recent discovery of oil,gas and various minerals has kick started the development of the project. A road and rail link is to be built from the port of Mtwara to Mbamba Bay on Lake Nyasa to link Malawi to the corridor and further road links into Mozambique will facilitate access to northern Mozambique.

Nanyamba Town,is a district established in 2016 of the Mtwara Region in the southern coastal Tanzania. Nanyamba is in the eastern portion of the Mtwara Region,near the coast.
